Me too. I've been holding off the likes of Alvaro, Terepo & Ma'u because I want N. Brown.

I think from this point in, I don't want to bring in anyone over $800k if I can avoid it.
Maybe I'll get JTrbo and McInnes is and outside chance of someone I might bring in if cash allows.
But I think I'll let Taupau pass me by and hope it doesn't hurt me to much
SJ I will also pass on this year unless he can prove he is over his injury concerns.
Already own the other guys over $800k mark.

Guys like McCullough, Gallen, Harris, Cleary, Surgess are all cheaper, many of them under $700k and all provide the possibility of keeper level scores, or close enough too the guys above that the cash savings makes it worth it.

    2. The NZ v Sharks game is 6 days after the Denver test. If Kearney holds them back it would have to be from some weird spiteful reason. I think they will play.

Denver is 18hrs behind NZ time. Travel time from Denver is 19+hrs. It would take 12 days for their body clocks to re-adjust back to NZ time (less because they would not have adjusted properly over there). So they probably wouldn't be back until 3-4 days before the game, and back to training 2 days prior. That's a harder turn around than the ANZAC test which was 5 days, and a 3 hour time difference and Warriors got pumped.

I am getting cold feet at buying Fifita at his current price. He is worth it right?

Personally I will be very dissatisfied if my second row by season end does not go:

    Taumalolo Brown JTurbo

I know some edge back rowers like Hess and Crichton are averaging more atm, but i want the bankable points of lock forwards and Lolo will provide enough variance in his scores as it is.

In regards to JTurbo, I think he can only get cheaper. Even if he backs up 3 days after origin, Barrett would be crazy to play him for big minutes. I think he plays a short stint at best in rounds 14 and 18. At any rate I should know by round 14 what the plan is. He will be the last piece of my puzzle.

I think at some point this season it will be cheaper than his current price.

Maybe in 3 weeks, maybe in 8 weeks, maybe never. But are you willing to wait for that to happen (assuming it does), and give up X points while waiting.

    @WL

Im in the same boat. Tossing up between Taupau and Arrow this week. If I don't get Arrow this week, it wont be for another few weeks. Taupau seems like the obvious choice. But he does seem expensive.

Also, Taupau against the raiders, id be tempted to throw the C on him. But Arrow is an absolute fantasy dream boat, every round I don't have him, I feel like im missing out.

Forgot about Brown. I'm going for a strategy similar to the cows of not paying over 800k for someone. As close to 750k as possible unless there is an exception.

What total price do we thing Brimson and Martin peak at? 450 and 650 respectively?

I have Taumalolo and Harris in now and plan is to keep them.

    Probably want JTrbo joining them

4th 2RF will be on bench - looking at Surgess/Gallen/Brown combination of affordability/scoring. I think Gallen will be quite tempting. Could drop under $600k. I think a 45-50 average is very achievable for him. Surgess also should provide value if you trust him to stay free of injury and suspension. (But due to byes next week woul dbe best week to get him, bottomed out in price or not)

Sounds about right, anything more than that will be a bonus. Martin might hang around in my team for a while if he keeps scoring at keeper level

For those like me salivating over MCK,
The NRL.com team list show (whatever it's called) with Noddy and Tooves said "MCK is in for Rochow, who is being rested, he is a bit battered."

Not sure their sources. But it is enough to scare me away

I've decided to get rid of Lamb & Sorensen for Martin & Fonua. Only problem is I don't know who to play in my 17.

    Cook
    Fifita, JFH
    Taumalolo, Murray, RFM
    DCE, Reynolds
    Mitchell, Dugan
    Teddy, Ponga, Thompson

Smith, Maloney, Su'a, Martin, Kikau, Havili, Fonua, Isaako.

Any advice on starting 17 would be appreciated.

Also saw photos of him (and Holland) practicing their goal kicking with the trainer on twitter this morning. No Mbye in the photo bounce
No reason not to keep and play at least until round 18

Tweeted Lone Scout re Hipgrave getting DPP as he is basically in the same boat as Fonua. He said theyll add him to the list of considerations. Might help anyone that is considering him.

    @chitmonkey
Has anybody else crunched the numbers to see if they can afford their ultimate 17?

Some of the trade ideas I've seen floating around here make me think most just trade the flavor of the week and don't look too far ahead.

I feel I've lucked out with most of my cows and double traded almost every round so will have my final 17 within the next 2 weeks yet I still won't have an 18th man (Hiku not counted).

With less players in our squads from years past has made it so much harder to make money and run a decent 18th

Yeah man, I crunched my numbers and I barely scrape in. It also doesn't account for bye planning. The issues I have are weighing up when to get the premium guns and the cut-price ones. Basically, my final 17 won't have Taupau if I get Fifita now and Taupau in a week. My 18th man is likely only a 40s scorer too

      Current date/time is Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:11 am
