That's what id be left with without SST

I'm thinking something similar with Kikau. My gut is telling me that SST will be a 30 point player. Thinking about it now, Roosters forwards have never been big fantasy scorers.

    I'm giving Kikau another week.
If he kills it this week I'll bring him in for SST or something. Not ideal cash wise, but want to confirm last week wasn't a fluke

My 21 looks a lot better than it did last week:

    Smith
    Scott, Lodge
    NBrown, RFM, Aarow
    Croft, Croker
    Hayne, Inglis
    Ponga, Dufty, Tedesco

    Cook, Griffin, Cartwright, Kikau

    Thompson, Havili, Kennar, Nicholls

I would love to bring in Murray next week but who for? No one worth trading out at this stage.

    Could I have some opinions guys. This is my team;

    Smith
    Lodge Arrow
    Murray Whitehead RFM
    Croft Carty
    Mitchell Kennar
    Teddy Katoa Ponga

    Cook Lichaa Griffin SST

    Nicholls Croker Havilli Isaako

First trade is Katoa to Thompson. I can then afford to trade Nicholls or Havilli to Kikau. I think Kikau is a must have. Havilli and Nicholls still have money to make though and doing these trades would mean one of SST, Kikau, Arrow, Lichaa would be an emergency which isn't really ideal I think. Do I go this route and trade Havilli since I'm stacked with hookers anyway, or bite the bullet with SST, Kikau comes onto the bench and have money stashed away? Nicholls too still has money but could see limited minutes, but could even benefit off the bench. Besides missing THompson and Kikau I'm happy with some of the players I have for money making so would like to maximise that.

Wasn't it you that posted his world cup scores Milch?  As you can see, I'm in the same boat as you.  Waiting makes me nervous, but thinking about it, is not a bad strategy I guess, but what if both Kikau and SST kill it, that's then another headache.

Something tells me SST will score at 40 max. Don't know why but just have that feeling.

Even if he manages high 40s he isn't a keeper and needs to be traded at some point.

it will be tough to bring kikau in with a negative b/e. if he scores 30 thats a 50k price rise (up to 340k), then if he scores 30 again you will get a 40k spike (380k). he will slow down around the 440k mark in a month with that average.

so if you think he is a 30 pointer you miss out on 50k out of 150k.

i should add that these estimates would apply to thompson as well who scored similarly

Think I'll stick with Katoa>Thompson and wait a week on Havili>Doughy, if he goes well it costs me 30K at most (as long as Havili gains 20K), and I can't see how I could fit him into my 17 so no rush.

Lichaa>Murray also a decent chance next week, hope I don't cop any injuries!

The Rabbits are proving to be very fantasy relevant this year!

Last week was a fluke in terms of he won't be getting a try every game, but realistically he doesn't need to do much to make bulk money. A couple of 30's from 40 minutes and you have $80-90K just like that. Is SST a keeper for you or were you just hoping to make cash from him. I know he is not a keeper but was hoping to make cash from him and then upgrade to a Taupau/Chricton/Gallen/Surgess type, or if he went well enough would be a hold for round 13.

At least with Kikau you know he is capable of breaking tackles and scoring tries unlike a lot of other middle forwards. He may end up earning the starting role or increasing mins during game due to a team member going down injured. If a back goes down chances are Yeo moves to centre.

I was hoping for the same thing from SST, some cash and then an upgrade. Doesn't seem like that will happen now, so a trade to a cashie seems the best option

World Cup scores happened with lesser quality teammates against generally lesser quality opposition, so he had opportunities he won't get in the NRL.
I was also surprised to see CHN apparently below Kikau in pecking order and not sure how long that will continue.

I might chicken out and bring him in this week., before lockout, but it would leave me with no WFB/CTR cover.
Bringing in Thompson let's me loop Thompson/Hiku each week

Highly likely 0 trades. I only scored 724 (I think) but I'm not going to panic. I think trading at the beginning of the season are probably the most important trades you make all year because it sets you up, but at the same time I'm not going to trade for the sake of missing out on this weeks cash cow. I keep telling people not everyone is going to get every single cash cow. Nobody is going to own every single gun. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Agreed on them being the most important trades and not being able to catch every cow.

I think especially as we only have 1 sample to go off, and Round 1 with hotter temperatures, forwards with a mixed bag of minutes due to injuries, short off-seasons and extra time thrown in I think this is the worst indication of minutes/form going forward.

Excited to see Round 2, and I'll most likely be making 1 trade in my forwards this week (to bring in RFM or Murray if he plays big mins for Lichaa/SST if they flop again and SST doesnt kick goals). With a trade in the next couple of weeks for Katoa for a fallen gun, proven cow.

Aren't people trading in Corey Thompson worried he's a winger for the wooden spoon favourites playing against the Storm twice in the next month and overall tough draw?

Kikau IMO is a must trade in if he's not injured. If you watched him play in the WC and the way he played in Rd 1, you know his capabilities. He got the left edge spot over Yeo (Yeo moved right) who's seen as a highly rated player at the Panthers. He almost single-handedly changed the game. Expect him to average 30-40 throughout the year in 50-60 mins throughout the season.
