The more I think about Souths and Cook the more inclined I'm thinking just to drop him off my bench altogether and spend the money elsewhere.  Even if Farah doesn't get a run in the 17 in round 1, a couple of losses or below par performances could see him back and would spell disaster.  If Farah wasn't named in round 1 but makes the bench in round 2 or 3 that would just be a kick in the nuts.

This is what im thinking too. Maybe looking at a curve ball pick like Peats.

Last year I tried picking a few players that were on the upper level of mid range but were consistent, but will be affected by a roster change somehow. This is how I picked up Vaughan from the start last year. Fluke.

Thinking of taking a risk on JWH, Packer.

Also got a sneaky Dugan feeling

You'd think Harris would have more potential to improve and bounce back. Thurston is interesting though and I am giving him a lot of thought.

Peachy on the outer with the club and trying to leave. If he were to move to Titans now he'd be playing 80 every week and absolutely worth putting him in but at the Panthers, he's on the outer and will only start round 1 in the back line due to injuries. When the team is fit, I don't see him starting, possibly back on the bench.

    Thoughts guys? Thanks in advance

I like this team a fair bit actually. I like starting Cook and Fifita, assuming Farah is left out of the 17 in round 1. Obviously if he's there then it needs to change.

I'm not sold on that 18-21, but a lot of the guys best for those positions are risks. So trust yourself there.

It's certainly possible, and it'll throw a lot of teams (mine included) right out the window.

Incomplete team but I'll throw up what I have at the moment.
    Looking at something like:

    Cook
    Fifita Lodge
    Brown Murray Arrow
    DCE Croft
    Milne ???
    Teddy Ponga ???

    Licha RFM ??? ???
    Croker Havilli ??? ???

$1.8M left to fill the rest of the team. Plenty of possible players to fill those vacent spots, but I've decided to leave them open until TLT. All this talk about Farah makes Cook a risk, but if Farah isn't playing then Cook is serious value.

Was able to make adjustments to fit both Thurston and Harris so that made the decision easier.

And right on with Peachy, so will he most likely be coming off the bench then?

Coach interviews and internet gossip suggests the more likely scenario is Cook/Farah in 9, With someone like Doueihi in the 17. And then probably Farah/Cook on the extended bench.

Come TLT people are going to panic about extended benches everywhere, at some point you just have to suck it up and take a punt.

Seibold quote in new Big League magazine: "Were looking for someone who can play multiple positions. I need to be able to trust that my hooker can play 80 minutes, but until Robbie or 'Cooky' can show me they can play 80 minutes, we may have to go with two nines."

also in this magazine they had Katoa listed for the Sharks at 228k rather than 212k. Not sure how official these prices are though

I think in a normal situation, yes.

Doueihi could surely see some games in the starting team with A.REY injury history you would think?

Sucks that Peachy can't get consistent starts - when he's in form he's an absolute gun.

Edwards and Nofo are priced at 45avg, and I think that'll be their avg for the season. Ideally both keepers but little value.

I don't like Dufty. But if you think he's capable of improving on his average go with him.

If Slade Griffin gets a start for the Knights you could potentially drop Cook for him. Free's up a bit of cash to spend elsewhere too

Anyone think McQueen can make a bit of cash if he locks up a 2nd row position?

Seibold doesn't have the kahunas to make his first big decision in the NRL leaving Farah out round 1. It's too early to define your career.

I think if Cook misses out on the 80minute gig, it gets very hard to leave Smith out. I've argued for his exclusion a fair bit, but that is assuming Cook is a high value and high point scoring alternative.

Griffin could very well be a top 21 or even 17 pickup though.

If you are happy with around a 30 average then drop Cook for Griffin. I will be selecting Cook even if Farah is in the 17 (which he won't be for long).
