The Tigers plans for the next 2 years was unsettled by a greedy Panthers who didn't want to wait for Cleary to finish his contract and instead signed him up before his current contract expired, KNOWING it would disrupt the Tigers future and eventually get him released early to them. It was a sneaky underhanded tactic that got them what they wanted and therefore they should pay, and pay a lot more than the reported 400K. So much for the "support staff salary cap", Panthers are laughing even though they're paying 3 coaches.
Panthers and Gus Gould have a lot to answer for IMO, particularly when Gus regularly likes to preach about his own agendas that are apparently for the good of the game.
Good luck to them and not 100% sure it's for the best but admirable nonetheless to see the father/son thing happening......however, Panthers/Gus need to accept they've created some deadset turmoil (for the Tigers, Griffin etc.) and some significant costs to their organisation, just to get a bloke they sacked a few years ago back.
Now the poor bloody Tigers have resorted to head hunting Jarryd Hayne FFS.
The NRL should step in and stop them, on the basis of not being of sound mind following the whole coaching shitfight.
He was easily my most hated player growing up but I've particularly liked Benny Elias' comments throughout this whole debacle.
I know he was championing the cause for a WA team but if he's not already, the Tigers would do well to get him employed in some sort of capacity.
