Really hope Smith only misses this week. Two weeks missing I'm almost tempted to trade to Pearce.

If you've got 'spare' trades then I say go for it unless you've got a really strong 18th man for cover.

Maybe. Suspect I'll be umming and erring all week about it.

Unless you've got really good depth across all positions, I wouldn't use your last trade on a player who isn't injured.

@Filthridden - What if Smith is only out for one week? Will you trade him back in? If not who will be your go to Captain for the run in?

I don't currently have Smith but if I did have him I would hold. Didn't the Melbourne Storm state on their website that they expect him to make a return next week?

Crichton and Gallen probably be my two captain choices - both have hit 80s in the last couple of weeks and a very high percentage of their scores are 50+.

My problem is that if I hold Smith, I have to play one of Fui, Chanel or Leilua.
None of them are providing me with much confidence.

I will take the risk and hope that McCulloch outscores Smith for the rest of the season in total points.
May not be the best choice but I have a few trades going and I need an increase to my points.

If something more pressing happens that requires a trade before the Broncos game then I will probably reverse the hooker-trade so it's not completely set in stone.

Depth is realistically as good as it can be and I can cover all positions, but with 6 rounds left it really can't be good enough to ensure you finish can with a strong 17 hey.

TTurbo is so good though :/

if Fui is in your starting 17, then trading him to TTrbo is possibly OK to use a trade.

That's a 20-25 points a week increase. Assuming Smith and Surgess come back soon its probably OK to keep them around.

Thanks for the advice Milchcow. I'll keep that in mind if I do decide to trade out Fui.

Bullshit, you could see that it was very late and that he was trying to put a big shot on. Doesn't matter whether they are the nicest bloke or not. The most potential for significant injury is when tackle is late and the ball player has no idea they are potentially going to get smashed and they haven't had a chance to brace himself properly.

i'm still 50/50 on whether it was a send off - it was late, but if slater didn't slip, he smashes him across the chest.

its rugby league, the intent is to smash people. the game is sold on players getting smashed (legally of course). in a sport where the aim is to hit people hard, you're occasionally going to have an accident. soliola intended to hit him late, but he didn't intend to hit him in the head.

I just checked my bye-performance and went from 4537th to 45th so bye planning was a success for me. That included:
N Brown being named but withdrawn 1 hr before kick on in round 12
J Graham and C Smith both being withdrawn just before kickoff in round 13
S Burgess tearing an arse muscle and keeping it a secret until kickoff in round 15
C Smith again withdrawing just before kickoff and R Jacks being injured (although he wasn't named) in round 16
C Scott chucking a sickie just before kickoff in round 18
M Suli getting injured before kickoff in round 19

My planning could have been so much better but it was successful on a whole

Next year looks a bit easier with Origin on:
Wed 6th June with a split round preceding.
Sun 24th on a stand alone weekend
Wed 11th July another split round
Teams will only get 1 bye as the competition will only run for 25 weeks

Have dropped 90 odd places this week and just sitting inside the top 900, not happy, cheers captain Cam, get your ass back out there quick smart.

    My team;

    Smith McInnes
    Fifita Taupau Kaufusi Yates
    Crichton Tolo JDB Brown Surgess
    Munster Cleary Lolohea Laybutt
    Turbo Croker Cotric Kelly
    Walker Slater Edwards Semi Isaako

    I have 5 trades and 15K and have an itchy finger.  I'm holding SMith and Slater and I think Surgess will play but what should I do here.  I'm 4K short of Kaufusi to Vaughn which I'm pissed about.  I'm thinking about some POD action though and Nofo is a great price and looking like returning to a bit of form.  Here are my options;

Lolohea - Nofo (leave Kaufusi for now)

    Edwards/Cotric/Walker - Nofo
    Kaufusi - Vaughn

or, just bite the bullet and downgrade Yates and upgrade Kaufusi to Gal, can't afford Mannering unless I cashout Lolohea.

I know looking at Nofo is crazy but his last 3 round average is 44, and his last two games his average is 49 without a try in either.  Or I gamble even harder and swap Lolohea for Mansour then I can upgrade Kaufusi.  Looking hard at downgrading Edwards or Walker though, could be worth it.  Kaufusi I had hoped I'd be able to keep but the last two weeks he's been lazy as fuck.

    Thoughts, anything else?

    Thanks gents.

I like your second option Wolf. Nofo is a good pickup, and Vaughan is almost a must IMO.

I have Mansour and have been horribly disappointed in his past 5 weeks. Averaged over 50 when I picked him up. Hasn't hit 40 since.

not happy with mansour as well, but he is the only player i own with less than 10% ownership (3.21%). with the next closest being nbrown (11.69%).

dont think there will be much movement in terms of rankings unless he goes huge. literally the only pod i have

Cheers mate, yeah that's looking solid, Wasn't happy with Edwards and how the Panthers were not using him in attack at all and he seems to have forgotten how to bust tackles like he did.  Walker is probably the better option to toss though, but really who knows.  It's a luxury trade the Nofo one, but with 5 trades and enough depth, I think I can take a risk.

Watson is another one as he'll keep that spot now until finals and is a great downgrade for the run home IMO.

Fun Fact. Andrew Fifita has never played at Suncorp Stadium at club level, only for State of Origin and representative games.
