2020 Parramatta Eels Thread......Lets not get carried away.

there's arguments to be made for both sides of the Mitchell/Roosters coin as far as the negotiations go, though i've been pretty disgusted by the transparent-as-fuck petty leaks the Roosters have made to the media to damage Latrell's reputation after they made a big song and dance about pulling his contract off the table, the article devoted to trying to paint him in a bad light for driving a fancy car was especially embarrassing.

I remember hearing that Politis was furious when it happened (mitchell being spotted in the merc), as it raises questions about the salary cap. Politis wanted mitchell to go through him with cars so he can keep track of it all.

that makes it even more suss, It would only have salary cap implications if it was given to him by some-one affiliated with the club... seems weird for a boss to shit bricks over their employee having a car because his fingerprints hadn't been on it beforehand...... hmmm, does ol' uncle Nicky not want the NRL to look too closely into his gifting habits?

If you haven't seen the Eels win a Premiership, or three in a row, you are a Johnny come lately with no idea about the game, a blow in whose opinion is irrlelvant.

Dude, I'm 44, and I'm scratching my head. Haven't seen it, so..... blow in? Really??
I've heard about the St George empire too.... didn't see it personally.
Amazing we only really hack on the Brisbane "empire", yeah?
If it's bait, it's good bait.

Sivo going to court in Fiji next week. Will be interesting to see what the integrity unit do. Video going crazy throwing haymakers, not getting charged by police =3 weeks. Punching a security guard, spending 3 days in gaol paying, 30k to get charges dropped = 0 weeks

Has anyone got any better footage of the Fifita thing? All i can see is a nearly off-camera drive-by clip over the back of the head from a scooter, where the guard wanders off not giving a f*ck after being "hit".
Is that it, or are is there an actual punch thrown?

According to Andrew Webster he paid 50k for it to go away, you dont pay that much if nothing happened or there isnt some sort of proof

you might also pay 30k (the actual amount alledged to have been transferred) to a corrupt police force who know you're in money and are extorting you for your freedom, but, i mean, it's not like the Bali police force has a reputation like that or anything... weird that the best Parramatta's support staff could do was broaden Sivo's bail conditions... i was told 30k magically clears some-ones name, i would think Parra could afford that.

He paid the victim not the police. Either way it was soft by the integrity unit

even cursory research on the subject would tell you that isn't true, but yeh, how dare they not suspend him for something they can't be sure even happened, i guess...

So, no actual footage? Or was that actually it? A drive by tap?

The unit also lacks consistency: Storm prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona missed three Tests with New Zealand for defending a teammate who was about to get glassed outside a Seminyak nightclub while Broncos star David Fifita escaped sanction despite having to pay $50,000 to the alleged victim to get charges dropped for an incident in front of the same club.
Even if you buy the fact they couldn't prove it there have been plenty of guys suspended for creating bad coverage or hurting the games reputation. There just seems to be a few clubs at the moment that have something over the NRL and play by different rules. Dont get me started on what Souths have gotten away with in the past 18months

would love to know this long list of players who were suspended stemming from an incident with no charges and no conclusive evidence that they did what they were accused of.
