    Jamal Idris
    NRLF: CTR, $194,000
    VSDT: CTR/2RF, $274,000

    Matt Ballin
    NRLF: HOK, $214,000
    VSDT: HOK, $152,500

In the NRLF thread, Idris seems to be a popular pick, but IMO he is a risk at $274,000 ($80,000 more expensive) in VSDT.

On the other hand, there doesn't appear to be much love for Ballin in the NRLF thread, but at only $152,500 ($61,500 cheaper) in VSDT, he looks a steal and worth consideration in spite of his injury concern.

What do you guys think about these two Tigers VSDT-wise (as opposed to NRLF-wise)?
    .

Depends which Idris turns up mate, and for how long! at $274,000 he is still under priced for what he is capable of but I don't think the extra money is worth the risk at seasons start in VSDT (I will take the plunge in fantasy however) I reckon I can find plenty of decent value there to pair with a gun CTR like Harris

Not a fan of using my second hooking spot on a cashie this year, potential for Ballin to go in he 30's so he will make some fair coin, but too injury prone for my liking. I like McInnes and the potential for elite hooking scores

As we all know with VSDT you can wait on someone like Ballin, check his minutes etc I will likely start with McInnes and do the same

At 152k Balin definitely in consideration. Even if you don't play him you would expect he has the potential to double your money. Idris like you say not quite as attractive but yeah, if he produces what we know he can then still relatively cheap. I dont think the Tigers will have too many issues scoring points this year.

Wait till ST finds out the only thing stopping me posting up the VSDT League registration thread is waiting until NRL Fantasy opens...

I don't have that much interest in idris atm in dream team, seems like there are better options at that price range (will chambers is cheaper than him for example). though in fantasy he will probally get a run for me; 194 k seems like a much softer risk with a good return likely. not sure the risk is worth the return in dream team considering he is unlikey to be near the top ctw scorers and probaly won't earn enough to spring board into a tohu harris, id ratheer run a true ctw cheapie and get better value

ballin seems the best cheap hooker option in DT atm, depending on cameron king so i assume most will get him in. Assuming he dosn't hurt himself he should get at least a $100k upwards. Probably the only real cheapie (bar hayne) out there that we know is starting. Fantasy for me will have to see all the options together but i imagine it will bee a similar story, wish he was a bit cheaper there though

Haha! A Bren's gotta do, what a Bren's gotta do.

Do you and/or SI have a copy of the SUG from last season to help with the rankings for this year's leagues? I took screenshots before VSDT opened way back on 24 Jan. ;-)

Thanks ST - Who to start in the halves is creating my biggest area of concern this year. Thinking I need to try and fit in at least one gun. A bit of potential value with cheapie/mid-range blokes though

I've locked in carty as my gun half with the panthers early draw and the fact that forwards are no.1 positionally in DT imo

the other is matt moylan atm, averaged 60 in the last 4 rounds and with no mansaur i see an increase in run meters likely, looks undervalued at $328

though JT is cheap, and with a favorable draw I got too burned by him last year so staying clear. I think SJ will be be a top pick too, was really constant last year + added goals+ knigths rd 1

mitch moses is another to consider, could seriously boost his score from $317.6 based on last years form

last non cheapie i'm looking at is dylan walker @ $280. We know his output is higher at centre and with kicking duties in the mix, he s sure to add some value though I like him at centre better

You need to go from the LOBBY mate, should get the Team History button in there.
