    Soward has retired.

    A 12 year, 231 game career.
    3 Origin games.
    1 Premiership.

Thats a hell of a career.

Much maligned throughout his career - I never liked him as a player but I like his off field personality. He calls things how he sees them and is quite entertaining on the radio etc. I felt he got better as a player as he got older.

I would have thought, that at only 32 (33 next season) NRL he would still have a fair bit in the tank left to offer an NRL club.
IMO he would be amazing in a side like the Storm where his role is reduced a fair bit. Maybe that back injury has ruined him.

I thought that sides that are pretty thin on halves like the Eels, Melbourne, Souths, even the Dragons would offer him a role as a backup 6 or 7, or even a starter. Or thought he would change teams in the superleague.

He will prob be remembered more as the bloke with the decent boot who was greg Inglis' speed bump once, instead of a bloke who played nearly 250 FG games.

If ur genuine and not biased i would say Soward bows out with a solid rep. Most forget the good years he had and the brilliance he showed for more than a while. Love his off field personality to, GL to the man.

I guess we've seen the last of the Sweet and Soward banner then. To be honest, the
    Great
    St George
    Team
poster is also something no longer relevant to the NRL.

Yeah I agree. I think that players wouldnt really have a bad word to say about him but geez some fans hate him, mostly because of his inability to tackle and because he never wanted to run the ball

No wonder soward was pissed about that stuff, its 1. not funny and 2. pretty personal
I'm all for a light hearted laugh at someone else's expense but pulling the piss out of someone because they have a slight lisp just in not funny I reckon

    mental hey...
going on photobooth on the computer and just saying shit that doesnt really make sense in pretty much the same accent for everyone....

just amazing that people generally fucking love him.
I mean, some of his stuff is ok but 85% of it is just shit.

If he was an actual comedian, he would do a standup show and tour around australia for a bit etc.
