The drug test results indicated he had taken coke in the previous few days so the driving ‘on drugs’ hysteria is misplaced and no, it’s not worse than using your phone when driving (different story if he was pepped up at the time).

He got off pretty lightly but the reaction is OTT. Local LNP politicians who haven’t seen the inside of a pub in a long time leaning heavily into the old ‘pub test’ cliche.

Need to weigh up a few things, we was charged with drug-driving and on a suspended license so that's fairly significant he also crashed into someone which resulted in injuries - in which he was in the wrong.

All of that together he should be facing 8-12 weeks. He needs to be very careful; another false move and the Broncos sack him and he ends up bouncing between clubs and never living up to his potential. For a man that was a Nathan Cleary heroic 20 minutes away from being a CC medallist that would be a shame to see.

Not totally convinced he was in the wrong with regards to the crash, there was plenty of opportunity to charge him with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing injury (or the lesser charge of just dangerous driving) and it didn’t happen. The injuries caused were seat belt burn.

I expected maybe 12 weeks and agree he needed a kick up the ring. Hopefully he does actually learn from it.

Hope everyone had a good last couple of days I sure did precious time with elderly relatives and we just had a basic Christmas didn’t go overboard with food or anything. Got a couple of gifts each but the true gift is remembering the birth of Jesus Christ and precious family time that’s enough for me all I needed.

Got to watch some of the cricket today too which was great. Went for a swim early evening as well.
