*Scored my share of touch footy tries in games with mates there, either pre or post a few beers at one of the adjacent pubs. I would describe my try scoring record at Erko Oval as "Nathan Merritt-esque".

We have trained there in pre season for years it’s just unfortunate what happened I think

Gut feel says Arrow plays a bit more through the middle (with Host on the bench) or they pick Milne in the 4th interchange spot to play in the forward rotation and provide injury cover for the backline. Otherwise one of DSF/Moale/Mitchell/Knight get promoted to the bench but wouldn't expect any of them to get a significant role

Could Tatola snag enough mins to become relevant

He’s slightly underpriced already due to an injury affected -2 and averaged 54 in 50+ min games last year

    On the guler horse chat.

    1. Guler is trash.
    2. I’ve heard the 13 role is likely to be Guler or Horse. So, it’ll probably be moony and whitehead.

From memory horse played a decent stint in the final game last year due to someone getting injured early. Made 50+ tackles, again from memory.
If he looks to be getting good minutes, he is still pretty awkwardly priced.

On Sutton, I’ve always thought he was under rated. If he gets a Josh Jackson role I’d be all over him like an nrl player on a white substance scandal.

Rabbits21 wrote:The thing on Turbo is besides 2021 where he avg over 80 is hasn’t really avg above 50 any other season. He’s already priced at 44 if you buy him you would want him to avg 52-53. I’m not sure he can do that.

I did also look at his averages:

He averaged 51 in 2019 before the -1 in 9 mins
He averaged 50 in 2018 before the 18 in 30 mins

Although given he was also busted in 2022, and ended his season with a -1 in 2020, I’m not sure you can discount injuries like that.

basically 4 of the last 5 seasons he’s ended with an injury that’s affected his average

The 5th season he averaged 83

So it’s just your risk appetite. For me, when there’s a range of outcomes that goes from “priced fairly but may get a -1 first up due to an exploding hammy” to “he could be almost 40 points underpriced”, I’d generally take the upside.

But the R2 bye means I’ll probably wait

Hudson young probably too awkwardly priced

Edit. Nevermind I thought he was in the 600s not 700s

There's a case to be made but I think there's enough value at MID this year that you could let him through to the keeper

in fairness though he's only priced 1-2 points higher than guys like Elliott, Horsburgh or Clark and is just as capable as they are of being value.

Why is there such a high ownership on I Thompson? Isn’t the most likely outcome he fills in for the one game Milne is suspended then back to reserves? Is there something I’m missing? Anyone in the know who could shed some light on this please?

There was a WT open day or sorts today. Just relaying what sheens has said.
Backrow will be: Papali'i, Bateman, Ofahengaue then blore.
Papali'i on left with Brooks, Bateman right with Doueihi.

People have no idea what to do at centre, I got rid of Thompson for this exact reason - doesn't help that Thompson is also 80k more than someone like Talau.

Know idea what to do or no idea completely? I mean if Thompson was named on the wing to stay I’d gladly pay $80k more for him than Talau, he’d also be given DPP as well. My point is around his job security, thought I may be missing something.

Tommy Talau is quite popular in peoples 18-21

But he ha been named to start in this weekend's trial, in a team noticeable for not having first grade starters
(Also has Utoikamanu, Matamua, Pole, Staines)

Could be just getting minutes into him because he's been out injured so long, but he might be a bit down the pecking order

Given he missed all of last year with his ACL injury (from round 25 2021), I think it's more likely that they're just getting minutes into him - he must be pretty rusty right now.

It could be either with potential of To’a, Naden, Kepaoa also able to play CTR badly like Talau

Honestly if he doesn’t get spot on TLT I’d probably run without CTR cover as the next cheapest worthwhile CTRs after Thompson and Alamoti are HTF and Reimis Smith at 372k which is an extra 120k

Dont like doing it but just dropped Grant down to Savage (already have Smith Boyd) and then used that cash to go Thompson Talau up to Holmes HTW and it does make the team look alot safer.

    Obviously lost one gun though.

Dont love the HTW pick so if he gets C then might even upgrade Savage to Suaali and then roll the very strong Holmes Sualli with Almoti on the bench
