Gut feeling is Papy will appear on an extended bench soon.

I think I'm taking the punt, although it means I have no MID or EDG cover this weekend . R13 trade bonanza will sort that out though.
With 21+4 trades left I’m fairly tempted to bring him back. Butcher I’m interested in but I think there’s a pretty high chance for some late shifting. He should still score okay in the middle rotation though

Round 14 is the earlier end of when he's due back, so odds are he'll be on the extended bench then. 4-6 weeks from his injury is round 14-16 (6 weeks becomes 7 because of Origin II being between rounds 15 and 16)

On Sexton, I got him after round 2 and held on. If I’d sold him there is no way I’d get him back. Maybe I just have PTSD.
Admittedly, in the last 15mins of the game last week he started to run again, which was a good sign.
He then dropped a simple pass cold on the Titans last set when they were on a last minute comeback charge. If that hurts his confidence and closes down again, those very low scores might come again.
AJ has stopped kicking, which was welcome but surprising as Sexton’s not a great long kick. Wonder if that was coaches way to make him take control?

I don't have your trades left but I need a half and I need cash, so I think I'll go Sexton over Burton, and if he ends up in my team as 17/18/19 at the end so be it.
The lack of MID/EDG cover is worrying, but BEs means I should just wait and get Harris etc. next week. At least 3 of my 5 MID/EDGs play before Sexton, so can always change if desperate.
Finally, Lone Scout says Sexton is not a buy. Which settles that he is a buy.

I know it’s a bad idea to bring in Knights players but thoughts on Barnett? Another 80 minutes and 50+ score last week. If he gets 80 minutes he scores very well in general. Could be a keeper for 560k

Attack looks ok, defence not so much.KiwiOilBoiler wrote:I seem to remember Sticky pretty clearly saying (paraphrased) in a presser "that as much as the public want him in, Xavier has a lot to learn about first team NRL play" a few weeks ago.

Off the back of the Hastings potential out, i'm tempted to go Hastings -> Hughes
I feel like this is the closest they will ever be in price and Hughes is an end game keeper
As I type this out, I think the sensible play is to pull trigger on this one post 1st Bye

Hastings has averaged 59 since his return, minus last week's 30 which was a sin bin plus niggle
I think he's shown enough (when fit) that he is also an end game keeper

robelgordo wrote:I just looked at Sexton's average with Campbell vs without Campbell, and I can't work out if it's significant or an anomaly. Anyone got any eye test opinions on it?
Mentioned him last week before they played with this exact breakdown and not a lot of bites
I think a couple mentioned they would bring him in this week if he scored ok
Catching up haven't really seen his name mentioned probably due to other pressing concerns which happens
To be honest my team is getting smashed with gun injuries so plugging holes too
Seems a good option for the bench or at worst a good loop option if you are into that

In saying that, Hughes is also an option leading into R17 bye
His scoring hasn't been too hot this year so far but he really picked up last season around Origin
Think most would be looking at Hughes/ARey/Moses as potential HLF trade ins for R17 and keep for the run home. Hughes would have the price advantage atm

Have to laugh at the basketcase warriors
So lodge is apparently on the cap for the next year and half (700k next year)
It makes you wonder why if it was mutual they have paid him out and what else is going on behind the scenes.
I mean in comparison you have CHT who is quitting the game still playing and then you have a healthy experienced origin prop where your pack is stuggling quit mid season and gets paid
Makes you wonder what the full story is
700k is more than what Hynes too, or would get close to a Angus Crichton or half a Munster
Its crazy
