The more I look at the players available to me this week the more I feel like focusing on the second bye.

Apart from Burton no one else really jumps out. Would rather grab SST and CHN next week than a May or Mbye this week

I’d rather wait a bit longer and go Simpkin to Verills as my cash out as he will be useful for longer than a fortnight. The cows this week just have to many question marks

Good to see another sucker bringing Hynes in this week.  Join the club! Beer

Thanks mate. Yeah it's tough not having him but really think I have missed the boat that's why I'm looking for alternatives. Getting him now doesn't really fit my season aim of being conservative.

I only have Walker and Walsh as rd17 players right now. I think realistically I'll be aiming to get that up to 7 players max, can't get more than that with my trades remaining.

How many trades are you aiming to have left post rd17?

Really depends on how hard I decide to go at round 17. Got 17 left atm and planning at least 8. Wouldn't want much less than 5 going into the run home

Centre position is a lottery, why are people stacking their team with them  now? Burton is some really short term fomo of a 60+ score this week.

There's a few of us close to pulling the trigger on still bringing him in, so our guts are saying something. I never looked at Edwards but yeah he looks good for the price. Seems to like an injury though.

Thinking with Hynes if he can get just 2 more weeks and make 100K more, for points and WFB cover next week, it kind of seems worth it. I think you have to not think about how much he's risen and take him on face value this week. Yeah, it's late but others still used a trade to get him which is what we are doing, except they had a few more benefits, but I still want in. If it doesn't work, so be it.

Thinking is that Cleary or Luai or both won't back up 2 days later after Origin. While Cleary doesn't seem to rest players often, they haven't lost a game and he can manage his players this year. Both could see more restings and his centre position is safe also. For me it means if Peach continues from the bench or Kelly doesn't work out, I can trade them and keep Burton in there all year.

Yeah I was looking at him for the ~100k too and probably is still worth it with the lack of cows around at the moment. Think you've sold me.

Anyone think Croker can make it to round 17? I keep thinking he is a trade out then he goes and gets 50+ and drops his BE. What happened to the guy we thought would average 35?

Could... could he be a keeper...?

Yeah, same. I've held him and whilst it's tempting to trade him this week for a R13, it just doesn't seem likely that he'll lose bulk cash. And with a lowish BE he's probably got another 50k to make on his way to an R18 cashout.

If there was a crazy tempting option I might do it, perhaps to CHN next round, but otherwise he can stay where he is.

I wouldn't be trading in anyone from a position capable of scoring sub 20 this week. Rules out centres and most WFBS

Swung back to Jones after Toohey's comments. I'll figure out a WFB in 14 or 15

That's the thing, still seems more locked in cash gen than any of the cows this week. Guaranteed cash and hopefully points.

Yeah I'm aiming to hold him to R18 to get to Pap or Fifita (assuming I can carry some cash through R17). Agree he has more cash to make, but think he will be losing cash through rounds 15-17.

Team value 13.54, with 17 trades in hand.

Leaning Starling to cashout (Jones probably, maybe Cobbo). Then could do Schuster to Hunt. But Schuie feels close to a final 17 player, and has a lowish BE, and will only miss a game or two.

Other options are Curran (same), Grand Gus (same), Turbo (same), Walsh (same)...

Then there's Haas. Who will miss a few games, is carrying a couple of light injuries (so may not back up) and has a buge BE. But MID is such a damn wasteland...

Yeah no matter how I work it, I can't go into next with less than 15 trades. Planning 8 over origin. Two for post origin guns and 5 for run home. Would give me 14 this week and 9 for rd17.

Annoying thing about Kelly is that he plays first, and my trade out (Simpkin) has >0 chance of still playing. I'd prefer Kelly, should make more money and have slightly better JS, but might have to go Mr Jones.
