Squad for the round. No trades so far.

    J.Brailey
    Alvaro, JFH, Twal
    Ipap, X
    Hynes, X
    Peachey, Bird
    Laurie, Talau, X
    Macca, Watson, B.Smith X

Pretty happy. Thoughts are that if Mahoney is def out I could trade him to Hunt. And maybe also trade Doueihi in.

Just joined. It's only my 2nd year of fantasy and I've been lurking on the forum picking up tips about how to manage the bye rounds. My team after trades:

    J Brailey
    Peach Watson Laeniu
    Papa Matto
    Bunt Moses
    Burton Bird
    Beanz Laurie X

    Brooks Kelly X X

16 trades left so hoping I can transition to 7 in Round 17

Most years it seems anything over 21 players across the two byes would be making ground on players around them.
So you look in a pretty good spot.

It's a good community, with plenty of people ranging from 1st or 2nd year through to decade long players - the best way to get the most out of the forum is to get involved Very Happy

Thanks mate. I'm not expecting to rival the likes of Chewie over the bye period - who seems to have geared his season around bye planning. But I'm keen to see how you long-timers balance between round 17 and the run home without burning too many trades.

I have stockpiled 408k so I can get DFifita back rather than loading up on round 17. Depending on injuries and suspensions, I should have enough trades to get in 3 for round 17 that I want to keep for the season (Harris, CHN, maybe Lolo) plus returning origin players, maybe soon after round 17 (Papy or Turbo, Grant) by including a few cashouts (e.g. Verrills) and offloading at least one of my 4 gun centres.  lol!

Awesome concept, have joined now. I remember coming 1st during the bye rounds in the early or mid 2010s and being super proud. Even though I'm sure my final rank was still shyte haha.

Got 14 for this round after trading in JSaifiti, Mahoney & JCampbell. 193k ITB and 15 trades to go after trades this round. Have gone Burton captain, think he's got a very safe floor and could go nuts if the Panthers play well. Thinking safe 50ish base with KMs and tackles with a chance to go around 80-90 if he grabs a try.

I always think the bye-period is the most interesting part of the season (from a Fantasy perspective) - even more so when they used to have 5 or 6 rounds affected.
It's also really interesting from the perspective of how different players attack the bye period.

This competition itself is mostly meant to be a bit of fun, but I will also be curious as to how much people can shift their season by attacking the byes (whether they're 500th or 15000th, there's lots of opportunity).

I looked at the make up of the Bye rounds earlier this season and saw that rd13 had plenty of decent player options so I focussed on getting those in. It does mean I had miss out on some popular pick-ups like Walsh and Starling.
I may have 17 this round, but will probably only have 9 for round 17 ( which should still be ok with coaches not willing to pull their final 17 apart for that bye round)
Looking forward to this round though bounce
I estimate to land around rank 600 or so by the end of the round

    My trades at this stage this week are Walker and To'o to Hynes and Burton. Gives me this squad for this week;

    Brailey
    Watson Leniu Peach
    IPap Matto
    Fog Moses
    Bird Kelly
    Hynes Laurie

    Burton Alvaro

Very happy with 14 on the field. Might lock in Hynes as Cappo so I can't reverse. Huge gamble bringing him in now.

Thanks mate, looks like I'm out now? Just confirming, it was the Eaters Of Teeth team I needed to get out. I think we're all good now.

Funny thing is, I think that team's got more playing this round than my FOG team.

Yeah, I managed to track down which was your POD team (leaving Eel Feet in the league).

One of the reasons I decided it should be each players main/FOG team as it's a fairer reflection of navigating the bye rounds (with less trades than for instance the POD teams typically have left).

    I've done a similar thing.
I had a few that I started with that I had hoped might be holds through to R13 - Turpin, Milford, Riki even, are examples of where it didn't pan out - it feels like they might have something in common...

It's been tough letting the CHN's and Starlings go past. Still, I should have 15 for this round and hopefully a similar rank to your estimation.

At this stage I'm aiming for about 9 in R17 - I think 24/25 should be enough for some good gains.

I have used to many trades already to be viable here but I'll play.
1 trade this week gives me 10 players. Lolo to Deadwards. Shocked
    Round 17 looks rather depressing.

Yeah from memory it was tracked every week like the BEs are. It might have been back in the sportal days haha.

Yeah I was going to go Hynes, however I think Burton is a safer play with his bulk KMs with May alongside him.
