Jackson - reverts to 45s playing 60ish mins in a week or two

I've had a good look into the stats and there is the possibility of him reverting back to a 45 avg. Last round was an outlier in terms of tackle count with the wet weather. There is a chance he averages 50s if he continues to play 80 mins (40 tackles + 100rm as a base)
I'm happy with that, he'll probably end up 14-17 in my team with Angus and DFifita as my 2 edge players

I like literally every other option in the 400-500k bracket over JJ. Has never been fantasy relevant, and isnt improving with age. Such an average footballer.

Defs warming to Egan and think I'm gonna get more for less money swapping him in for Turpin. Screw it, gotta make some tough calls to get ahead across the season

Thanks - That definitely makes it more interesting.

I'm a little tempted to pull the pin on $544k Turpin. Not because of the floor score of 32, but more because I'm struggling to see him scoring much more than 40's with some 50's - doesn't seem inclined to run much, and not a huge tackler (which may drop a little further when Haas & Lodge return). It's probably better to hold the trade and gradually watch his price crawl towards $600k.

Haha yes I had a look at all the other options and most of their scores includes tries... or they have questionable job security. Jackson is a bit of a dinosaur and I'm still on the fence on the trade

You would think having Haas and Lodge would make his tackles better. Haas/Lodge can start the tackle and Turpin can come third person in to complete it (smith-esqu type tackling). Also would think less chance of missed tackles with those blokes in the team. Also his attacking would/could increase with those blokes as Haas, Carrigan, Lodge, Riki and then TPJ, Flegler, Asiata can lay the platform for him to use his speed around the ruck.

Can't wait to see what Cotric dishes up against the ponies. Which edge will he be running at I wonder? Hopefully its Milf's side.

Yeah I agree that Haas and Lodge could actually help Turpin's tackles because he can rack up the flop tackle counts. Haas can't stop them getting smashed but I think he'll make enough of a noticeable difference when he returns.

Oh crap Cotric is running at the Niu/Milf edge. 15 tackle breaks incoming.

Looking at Averillo he is really missing those run metres and missed tackles are killing him. How long till he is shafted to Ctr/Wing/Bench or dropped... He also has a BE of 28 and is averaging 19.5. I think the smart play is to jump of Avo and run with Shumeister. If Averillo finds some form then good on him, but with Flanagan absolutely dominating the kicking 519km a game Shocked and controlling most the team then Averillo is a failing cow for me! Schu has the low BE, talent for the game, big body playing in a decent scoring position and has the opportunity to grab it and run with it this year...

Will ponder over trade #2 today and tomorrow. I am set on giving Tino another crack as he just needs 1 game to break the tonne this week... watch this space and I feel Moylan can still scrape through a few 30-40 pt games until SJ returns. Turpin has a few weeks to show me if he can do anything, otherwise he will be a decent cash out for Turbo...

Really? Awesome! Quick check of his stats and his best was 17 in a game so hoping he breaks that. Also looks like he's scored a try in every game against them since it looks like rd4 2017? Maybe it should be (C)otric this week... affraid

Think I'm gonna have to trade Tino to Schuster and Turpin to Alvaro, even though I don't want to it's the only way I'll be able to get cleary so I guess it has to be done

Yeah last week he had 40 tackles and 55 running meters. Doesn't seem unrealistic and every chance of going big with his skill set as well.

How many edge players average 40 tackles? I'm going to guess they can be counted on one hand. Fair enough if you think he can offset a drop in tackles with a rise in run metres I guess.

This Schuster talk is similar to last year when Best had an unsustainable floor after 2 games of big running metres + tackles.

Here is a list of second rowers that averaged 40 tackles per game last year:

Schuster's best case scenario is prime Wade Graham, who spent multiple years training to build to that point

Kid is talented but I don't think he is going to score bulk fantasy points of of the gate

I'm just pleased that there are so many other attractive trade targets and Cotric is going under the radar. Waiting on a breakout game that makes him look too expensive for consideration to bring in.
