In some games Robbo manages his forwards minutes as well so I can’t see SST playing 60-65mins every week.... he could avg mid to maybe high 50’s though.

Re Lam I think he will be a mid 40’s scorer.

Storm interview with Welch was good but few bits of fantasy analysis I don't agree with

"Smith only averaged 35 tackles a game so Grant will lose 14 points there" - They play a completely different role in defense. Grant was primarily operating as the marker or "A" defender, where Smith would at times defend as wide as "B" or "C" in the normal defensive structure. This move was purely as Smith aged to keep him fresh for the important games. In 2019 Smith averaged 39.7 tackles per game and 40.1 in 2018. Grant's defensive numbers and role are sustainable

"Smith had 15 try assists for the year with Grant only having 5 so we can drop off those points" - Again completely different role and way they score points. Smith regularly operated as a play maker close to the line, putting Tino, JBrom, Finucane and BSmith over for tries targeting the middle off a quick play the ball. Grant is much more of a ball runner. If the markers are on the ground, Smith will send a middle into the soft spot behind the ruck, where Grant will pick up the ball and go. This makes Grant more likely to pick up TBs, offloads, linebreaks than Smith who would tend to get LBAs and TAs.

"Smith's 15 try assists have to go somewhere so Hughes might see an uptick" - Tries (and try assists) are not a guaranteed statistic in the same way kicks/tackles/runs etc are. Melbourne could see an upwards trend, downwards trend or stay the same in terms of tries scored. Logically we can assume that if the attack stays relatively the same the bulk of the attack will run through the creative players; Grant, Hughes, Munster, Papy however we have no idea of the breakdown or how the set plays are trained. Melbourne may be running at attacking structure similar to Manly/Knights where Turbo/Ponga (Papy) throws the last pass on attacking plays so end up with a lot of try assists. Or they may be similar to Penrith where Edwards (Papy) lurks on the inside to hold the defense allowing the 6 and 7 to throw the final pass. Or we might even see a Raiders style attack with Hodgson (Grant) directs all traffic and picks up bulk try assists Unless we see a full strength trial we will have no idea how this change in attacking structure will play out

@multiple.scoregasms you make some good points and you obviously watch the team very closely.

Thats the beauty of rugby league and fantasy, while I don't particularly agree with all your statements, you are making me think and also providing a different context for the people reading so I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a message

Jeez I couldn’t believe how off Flanno Corby is! Sure he might not do as well this year as last year, but he’s a good draft option especially later once Moses DCE and Cleary are all gone.

I reckon he’ll make up for his losses (Goals/tackles) by assisting in more tries/lbs. I think he’ll have a good year tbh.

I hope Ted roasts Corby for that lol!

Yeah fair enough. Is he on board the FlanaganWagon now? (I’m also talking mostly draft here, classic he’s pretty well priced but I’m not sure he’s a gun so I won’t be jumping on).

Also I did a spit take with my coffee when I heard Andy’s entrance hahahaha that was gold!

@Snatchpato haha Ted is due to give me a spray for something soon. Like TK mentioned above we recorded it before the interview with Flanno. After I heard it and his confident talk of roaming I started to doubt my original prediction haha.

Yeah that's fair enough mate. I'm not sure he'll be a massive gun, but I reckon he'll continue to hang with guys like ARey and Wighton, but who knows the Fantasy Gods are fickle fellas.

Welcome to the forum too mate. I highly recommend an embarrasing pic of TK or Andy as your avatar.
