Only 1 DPP in Raiders squad. Goign to be tough for DPPs thi syear

Looks like we'll need trials and TLT to give us some decent DPP options.

As it is going to be hard to have cover everywhere

All bar Frawley/S Williams (discounted 67k/140k but not going to play) and Rapana (slight increase of 16k) priced according to indicative pricing. Ryan James priced on 2019 average (4 game discount for 6 games)

HSS could go alright at 246K with Croker out to start the year. CHN will be in everyone's team. Ryan James at 454K.... wow

I think I will start with Hodgson at 502K and Horse at 566K... there is a lot of value here

I like Horse at that price if he starts too.

Can see I'm going to get sucked in to mid rangers again, but Horse has the potential. You can never trust Ricky though.

I'd guess them starting something like this

    Papalii Hodgson James
    Whitehead CHN
    Tapine

    Horse
    Young
    Guler
    Starling/utility

CHN and Ryan James are the ones that interest me

Ryan James priced at 33, averages 50+ as a starting prop (and that is with the pre-2020 rules, could see a boost on top of that)
Admittedly as a Titan he played massive minutes that he probably won't replicate at the Raiders, but still keeping an eye on him.

DPP watch has this at 6 out of 81 players now (4 of which are CTR/WFB)

Players 18-21 might be a bit more important this year

Its also not a Greg Leleisiuao situation because such a player no longer exists. He changed his name to Greg Marzhew

    Speaking of Titans

Tino and Fifita have been living together for long enough that they can give the same stock answers to pre-season fluff articles.
I never knew the Titans jersey was so respected

True, forgot about CHN there for a minute. Wouldn't be surprised to see a 40/40 split with Horse and Tapine.

Middle forwards for the Raiders may be too risky, especially with James there now too.

Mate if Starling is on the bench I’m avoiding Hodgson as he will likely get 60-65mins not 80 mins.

I think at this stage I want Cook or Grant as hooker unless I see that there is another good value hooker similar to like an Api last year.

I think Horse will start at prop and James off the bench.

There is too much competition in the Raiders middles to make them fantasy relevant unless injuries happen.

Horse seemed a bit of a tenuous selection last year when he was $100K cheaper and they had less experienced depth in the Middle...

I think this season is definitely going to test peoples risk appetite for players coming back from injury or with questions over JS (Turbo, James, Brailey, Isaako, Averillo just to name a few).
How many do you risk taking on with likely less DPP cover?

A lot is going to depend on what other options are available in a given position.

If Averillo is the only cheap starting half, then everyone will jump on. if there are a few other options (Schuster, Roosters half, any trial injuries/TLT surprises) then people will have to pick and choose who to pin their hopes on.

If Trbo manages to make it to round 1 looking close to fit he's going to be so tempting though (also assuming he gets priced as per average and doesn't get a significant fanhub boost)

I'd hope they don't give him too much of a boost.
His 8 week injury resulted in him missing 12 rounds.
The first round he was back he didn't even make it through the whole match before injury (declaring he'd be available for Origin... and wasn't...)
The previous year was out for 3 different injuries.

I'd think if you take on that risk, you deserve the potential reward. Someone suggested the late mail crew indicated he is priced under $550k - so may have a small boost?

James is a tough one, with Horse and Young likely getting big minutes in the middle off the bench, Guler as well there probably isn't a worse team for quality middle bench minutes than Raiders.

Also I can't recall anyone coming back at the top of their game following an ACL injury, normally takes a year or 2.

    Could be a trap.

    Wont be touching James.

Simonsson should have a wing spot all year and at basically base price, could make some cash. Avgd 30 in 2019 on the wing.. just needs a few tries early to pump some cash
