My captaincy shortlist is Haas, DCE, Cleary

If DCE will goalkick again, I think Manly will be able to get a few points against Gold Coast, so hopefully he can get some attacking points along with his kick metres

Looks like a good pack to me. I mean I understand how some might say they are reserve graders, I am just saying I don't remember anyone saying that or saying they would miss the 8.. especially with Latrell as your big market signing and then your outside backs.
Don’t mind me I was having a cheeky dig at MS who said it was an average reserve grade forward pack and he predicted Souths to miss the 8. I have to remind him of this  lol!

If Cleary gets rested this week I’ll be tempted to do Cleary to DCE as my last trade.

Nope I’m relieved I do not have to stress as much as Souths have made the 8. Not bad at all as many were calling our pack a bunch of reserve graders who’d miss the 8, I’m proud of every one of them. Top 8 was a pass mark for us this year after losing GI, Sam and Sutto and we’ve done it.

Still would be nice to get a 6th placed finish so plenty still to play for.

Gotta admit I was one of these. I thought signing a centre to play fullback was not going to mask the loss of leadership from Sutton and Surgess leaving, but even Latrell's improvement surprised me. Huge leaps from Campbell Graham, Su'a, Koloamatangi, Sironen and Mago as well as career best form from Turgess has masked a lot of issues. But I think it was more lack of talent outside the 8, rather than Souths being good that sees them in their current position. For mine there is a huge gulf between the top 5 and the chasing pack

We deserve some credit though, other clubs lose legends and fall further back than what we have.

Missing Horse at the start and going with Jack Williams hurt me. Stimson and Musgrove were also dud picks for me.

Trading Williams out to Magoulias was the silliest thing I did.

Then of course I had my constant centre issues.

Was talking to some Parra supporting friends last night. They are all of the opinion that Parra are done for the year.

The view (and i agree with them) is that they'll be ripe for the beating on the weekend. The main questions is whether Brisbane will be good enough to take advantage of it. My guess is Parra will just hold on in a shoddy game.

I think losing Moses for so long hurt their momentum and then Matterson being in and out doesn't help. Gutho's form has really dropped. The scoring for the outside backs has dried up immensely. Maybe a game against the Broncs and Tigers is what they need to get back into form before the finals. As a Storm fan I would love Parra to clinch the 3rd spot and vs them first week of finals.

To quote Star Wars "I have a bad feeling about this" in regards to TLT.

Lot of players with the potential to be rested, I'm already down a man because of McGuire's stupidity and I have 2 fit players in the EMG's.

It is Matterson's 100th game this week and the below quote as me wanting to chuck the C on him against a Warriors team who have no finals aspiration anymore
    Matterson Quote:
"I don't know whether he was trying to make me listen in class or what but he was adamant that he knew what quality rugby league players looked like and he said I wasn't one of them," Matterson said on Monday.

"I always said I wanted to play first grade like my old man (Paul) and my uncle (Terry Matterson) so to play just the one I was over the moon and since then I've played every game like it was my last."

I had Williams and Stimson too.

I had a few doubts about Williams before round 1 started, but in the end didn't see anyone else I could afford that I was comfortable with. Without the benefit of hindsight it was hard to say who was going to be the worthwhile pick (Bryce Cartwright was one I was thinking about as an alternate pick)

Given Stimson's stats I was very comfortable having him in my team. He didn't work out, but that was partly because he got injured early and didn't have a chance to come good. In the same situation next year I'll pick that player every time. Its going to work out a lot more often than it doesn't.

I like DCE as a captain choice, but not sure I can take it off Haas. Titans are turning into a competitive team now.

Best year I've had, as sad as that is looking above. Being more agressive and less thinking about options (even though it doesn't seem that way) has paid off. The aprehension slipped back in the last 6-8 weeks though, casuing me to tread water. Top 500 was my goal as I think 502 is the highest I've ever finished. Luck hasn't gone my way since I started playing in 2014 but happy with my year. Hopefully I don't fall off a cliff the last two weeks like I have done a couple of times in the past. With the aprehension creeping back in, it means I have 3 trades so hopefully they can be used for pivitol moves that help me gain rank or at least hold top 250.

Gotta thank Trajan for my change in approach to be honest. He called me out a couple of times and changing tactic to go with guy calls and being more agressive paid off, for the most part.

Cancel that. HIA'd at training and won't play this week. Despite my thoughts on his ability, that does suck for him to be given another chance and now miss the game
