I’m back baby! Hope everyone else has survived the coronapocalypse unscathed.

One trade-in I am very hot on which I havnt seen mentioned yet is Matterson. On the surface it looks like he is only providing exactly what was expected. But I had a closer look at his round 2 game of 52 points...

The dude was on 50 points at the 60 minute mark. He really clocked off when the score was already 26-6 and since the Eels scored 4 tries in that last 20 he barely had a chance to get involved. In fact, making an ineffective tackle which was offloaded was his only involvement in the final 12 minutes, and he could have gone 70+ if the game flowed differently. He didn’t even look especially gassed. He has also missed 7 tackles in the opening two rounds, which is out of character for him.

He is a bit like Teddy in that the key is timing him before he scores the inevitable try and gets the price jump, but I can see an 80+ point game in him when he does and I don’t want to miss out on that. I’m bringing in Lolo this week (as should anybody without him), but I’m also tossing up between Arrow and Matto for another gun trade-in and so far Matterson has the edge (pun very much intended Cool  )

I forgot about Matterson. I like your shout out re him.

If I had to decide between Matto and Arrow I’d pick Matto.

James Roberts will be tested for Covid later today. If he is cleared he is free to return to training tomorrow and be eligible for round 3 selection.

Firmly on my radar. He also plays in that channel outside Moses that Ma'u scored a bunch of tries in. It's a matter of when he scores a few tries

Good shout re Matterson. He will always put up the base stats but good opportunity for more attacking points. I mean, its the same assessment as was in pre season.

The bonus is he is unlikely to be shifted around or benched at the Eels.

    *ALARM BELLS EMOJI*

    Newcastle Knights
    @NRLKnights
The rookie hooker is training the house down in an effort to grab a debut in round three

    --

The article doesn't give much away. The most interesting part is actually O'Brien's comments re his centres..

"I've got four centres there that are like four pit bulls at the moment, their all going after it," O'Brien said.

"I'm really happy with the two centres that started the year, but I can't not think about Bradman (Best) and what he's done since he came back, and Tau's (Moga) been the same.

"They're all going really well, and that's what you want.

"It's probably one I lay awake thinking about."

Surely they wont have Macca at Hooker, and both Randall and Watson on the bench?
Cheap centers at the knights could be a nightmare if they start rotating them.

I doubt it but who knows. I would think Randall misses out, just a bit of a fluff piece to pump up his tyres.

Doesn't Macca play 2nd row as well. He could fill in for SMat when he's off the field for an HIA

3 rounds is a long time to warm the bench at that price

confirm he is a sell then. I don't want that much cash sitting on my bench for 3 weeks. 2 yeah but not 3. I will get him in later if I can.

Fifita > Matterson looking very likely.

Bummer, round 5 would make a huge difference, as he could start and play 80 before TPJ gets back from suspension.

Yep, coming back from leg surgery as well so could be a tad off the pace and looking to ease back in

    LOL!

O'Brien could get a free interchange. Watson on the bench, start Macca then Macca to second row when SMat is gone for HIA after 20 and Watson comes on and plays 60 minutes at hooker. Brilliant!

He will become Tolo for me. Will need to downgrade someone though for some money. Probably Williams.

Dunno what I'm going to do with Watkins yet. I'll just play big Willy and run without cover I think.
