For those keen on Watson - Barry Toohey was asked about Watson/Randall and responded "Will share role. Randall a chance of starting"

I don't buy it. O'Brien has done his apprenticeship at clubs that have used big minute hookers. A big part of the game plan was Brailey for 80 minutes allowing them to rotate through the middle 3rd. Watson will comfortably get 65 minutes at hooker

Are you thinking of a different Randell? There was one that has played for the knights a few years ago.

This guy (may be related) doesn't appear to have had an nrl contract before.

Regardless, you are probably right about mins..

I suspect that even if they share the role, they may spend a lot of time with both players on the field; Watson shifting to a mobile roving Lock role while Randell is at HOK. Good for Watson and helps to ensure the Big Easy continues to gets poor minutes

This is probably why i'll wait and see on Watson to be honest. New coach seems to have different ideas to what we expect.

Also Barnett is out for a few weeks for the Knights. I think the Knights whole rotation was already hard to read before COVID, and its not getting easier.

Sione Mata'utia will be a direct replacement for Barnett at 2RF, coming back from injury

Anyone interested in Sione at CTR (426k). Doesn't have the greatest scores at 2RF in 2019 (actually had better scores at CTR and wing) but has decent pedigree from previous years and is another 2RF playable at CTR

Really struggling to find a replacement for D.Fifi! Need a 2rf and I have 900k but I can't find a player who really sticks out. If Tevaga starts in 13 then he is going to be really tempting but I find warrior players really hard to trust because of their stupid coach. There's always the safe options in like a JTurbo or Matto but I just am not sure right now. Anyone got any suggestions?

Sione is a walking HIA. Heart in mouth every time he plays if you own him.

Very tempting as a CTR at that price, but there's a fair bit of risk.

Forgot about Sione, was thinking Guerra. Interesting option. 2RF numbers poor in 18/19, as you say, but before that would be a very viable to play at CTR

Also last year, Sione only averaged 29 at 2RF (8 games, 75 minute average)

2017 he averaged 36 which is much better, but not quite keeper level.

Tyler Randell is the one that previously played for the Knights I believe. He was never anything special, but still managed 44 games for the Knights in a rebuilding period

The young guy being talked about is Chris Randall, no relation. I haven't watched a single minute of him play so grain of salt. But I don't see how a development player that wasn't threatening the top 30 roster gets major minutes over Connor Watson, who is one of the best dummy half runners in the game. Especially with the change in ruck rules meaning we see more quick starts, I think O'Brien would be mad to not give Watson bulk minutes.

No way, never again. A fly would land on his head and he'd be down for the count.

I'll probably just swap Watkins for him if he gets a starting spot.

I don't know anything about him but lost interest in the preseason as people talked about his injury history and likelihood to get injured again... Which he did. Probably turns me off him, personally.

I should add that if he was $246k it'd be worth a punt, but it's a combination of the injury history + price that turns me off.
