4th Annual NRLFF Meetup (Magic Weekend) - postponed 2021 edition

I've got this 4 day boys weekend followed by a 4 day boys fishing weekend a fortnight later. I'M MARRIED !!!! This is going to cost me diamonds or an overseas holiday if I pull this off.

I have my 30 year school reunion a couple of weeks later in Townsville which ties in well. Will be getting to a few suburban grounds in the weeks after Magic Round, and definitely Tigers/Dragons at Bankwest Round 12.

I'm thinking I'm less likely for magic round this year. Lock me in for the Dragons game

I'm a certainty for Tigers/Dragons game and an unlikely for Magic Round. Will need to earn some serious brownie points to make Magic Round doable

I have booked the 3 weeks off work for then but haven't looked at flights yet. Although still got a couple of thousand in credits from last year's abort. Assume if things go South again they credit again? Will have a look but anyone else used them yet?

Is it time to start checking off who is going to be in? I haven;t looked into it in detail, but what are the restrictions around number of seats that can be booke dina group - and what sort of crowd capacity are they planning on?

I haven't looked at rebooking flights or anything yet. Still have some concerns about 1 case appearing a week out and borders getting shut at the drop of a hat

I still got flights I haven't cashed, but going on a boys weekend fishing in NSW so no border concerns a fortnight before. Worried what it will cost me with the missus to have 2 boys weekends in a month

its just three day passes on sale at the moment isn't it? i havent looked at it closely yet.

i am guessing there will be a lot of people hesitating to book their weekend this far out.

myself I think i'll just do the Saturday

Last year I was going to do Friday + Saturday.
Would probably stick with that

I was thinking closer to round 1 there should be a bit more hype around people getting involved (and most likely the time that everyone is active on the forum)

I'll just be going on the Saturday so i'd be happy to sort a group of seats for that day. Not sure how to work that in with those getting 2 or 3 day passes though? If we actually have decent numbers then ticketek should be able to help us out

Aight, sweet as MTB. I'll check in here often as to keep updated on proceedings etc regardless, I'm keen for the catch up!

Last year the main fanatics meetup was going to be on Saturday, with a few doing Friday and/or Sunday as well with other friends.

Does that work well for people who are interested?

I was doing Friday with another friend, and Saturday with Fanatics, which I will probably plan for again.

I'm keen for this lads. I might be going on the Saturday with my work team, but a couple of people have pulled out so the whole thing might fall through, not sure.

Regardless I will be up in Brisbane over that weekend (long trip from the Goldy ), so will be keen for a few beers even if its not at the footy.

Yeah I think the Saturday is the easiest day for a meetup, regardless of who comes to games. Book a table for the Caxton/Brewski/newstead brewing/wherever for midday ish saturday
