Re: Origin Game 3 Match Thread
That is the biggest joke nearly in the history of awards. Seriously. He played two games. Even if you scored the games out of ten and he got 20 from 2 games there's Cook and Tedesco who both blitzed the fuck out him. That's an absolute load of shit. I'd be looking into what betting agency has their fingers in that one. That's actually disgusting.

These awards have really taken the shine off the most enjoyable game of origin I’ve ever watched. Is it still the test selectors who award them?

1. No there aren’t.Ice wrote:
There's is ten backrowers that could have done what Cordner did. Yep, he worked his arse off,no doubt, good effort.
Maloney single handedly cost us the game tonight and any late opportunity. Has a half every thrown so many intercepts in a series, surely not.
2. If you’re going to single out a single player it’s Sims.

How bout Vaughan? 1 run. Mannah would have had more runs for sure.

Slight exaggeration maybe, but really, it's back to the Gallen days. Give it to the skipper and let him do all the work to pump his stats up so we have a hero. I'm over it. give the other forwards a rocket and tell them to get more involved or give Cordner a rocket and tell him to get his other forwards to do more of the work as for the most part when they do they are more effective.
Sims shouldn't be there,I've already stated that and it's unlikely he will be next year. But Cordner will still be our skipper and first choice player regardless of what his form may be like and that I still think is very dangerous.

Australian selectors pick the Wally Lewis Medal - do they phone it in after watching a highlight package ?

From what I can find the aus selection panel is Meninga Lockyer Commision chairman(Beattie) and Fulton but I think Fulton stood down last year so not sure who the lone NSW representative is anymore

I've seen photos of the NSW players with the shield. Surprised they didn't just give that to Slater as well.

Haha, Daley. No surprises there given some of his selections during his time as first selector and then coach of NSW during their reign of mediocrity. And Lockyer? Well, that just shows him up to be a totally biased peanut now with zero credibility. What a husky voiced numpty. Back on the gear obviously, stick to 1300 calls you goose.

Sims cost NSW the game.
Hunt cost QLD the series.
Fucking Dragons players. Go back to StMerge.
The game went more or less the same as the first 2. QLD dominant for 90m of the park. Held the ball better. Hit harder. Just have no idea how to score. NSW had minimal chances and they executed them.
Honestly, they should have won that game by 20, the amount of ball they had and the time they spent camped on the line.
Highlight of the game was the silence from Gus when Maloney got binned.
Val's superman grab was the play of the series. That was fucking amazing.
