Lol that's true. Which player could you seriously pick over Aitken right now? He's a natural centre and in great form, strong defensively, burned Inglis last week. He's a much better option than Dugan/Hayne/Jennings at centre for mine. As an owner I hope I'm wrong but I've almost succumbed to the fact he will get picked if he keeps putting in strong performances.

Edwards is a pretty big POD at 700k worth saving the 100k as opposed to Fifi, means I can get Surgess next week for a peaking cow??

    Team is now

    Cook
    Arrow Kikau
    Jurbo Rochow RFM
    Croker DCE
    Mitchell Isaako
    Ponga Turbo Thompson

    CS9 Havili Lodge TPJ

    Kennar Doui Murray Katoa

108K ITB. I am currently sitting 471. I just feel like I need a trade in there somewhere to bump someone scoring 30 odd points up to someone Averaging 40-50, just don't know who and if they are fully milked yet.

Couple of ideas for you as a late birthday present. Nothing wrong with building some cash but if you want to go higher overall you could consider the following

    1) Croker is a weak starter. I'd be tempted to do a straight swap with Doueihi or Croker to Jacks for a superior cash and points return (this is high risk banking on Jacks to fire and stay in the team). Potential 20 point improvement

You've kept Smith and he rewarded the faith. With a few trades saved I'd be happy to ditch Murray and bring him back in later to try and keep pace.

    2) Murray to JFH accelerates your scoring this week. Playing JFH over Havili is a potential 25 point improvement . Gives a good bank for further upgrades and could take you to any mid tier half via Doueihi you like.
    3) Murray to Edwards or Tedesco sets up a strong back 3 and readies you to milk Thompsons rises. You can do this and option 1 at the same time and it should be a 40-50 point improvement
    4) Murray to Fifi via the extra cash you get from Doueihi to Holmes, Nichols, Gosie or base guy you like etc. Playing Fifita over Havili is a potential 30 point improvement

I'd be tempted to roll the dice on Jacks but you've had a super solid start and this could put a real dent in your overall hopes. Croker and Havili feel too weak in an otherwise firing 17 (personally feel centres are a lottery you shouldn't invest too heavily in).

I like Murray -> JFH and Doueihi (or Croker) -> Jacks / Maloney. Leaves a huge warchest and shoul be a 40ish point improvement this week.

Thanks for the birthday present @Cap'n Ranta. I really like your thoughts. I might invest in one of those ideas.
@Loomer how does a CTR being injured help JFH? Sorry, just don't understand

Doesnt, he needs to be at lock to score heavily, not on either edge.

As in Dylan? Probably not IMO mate. Fifita no risk of origin this year, plays 13 and if the sharks start to fire we know full well what he's capable of.

I think he means due to a forward covering at centre (Yeo or CHN) it will leave more minutes in the forwards

Cements his 65 mins at lock last 2 even more. He's really cheap at $499k considering what a basement cow cost last season compared to now

Maybe not a direct effect but they're less likely to carry a benchie who'll pinch minutes of JFH when they have Blake out as well. Especially seeing as they're considering playing either CHN or Yeo there. May also spell a little more park time for Kikau.

Personally, yeah it's hard to argue against Aitken in the Centres. We have a weird fixation with playing fullbacks in every available position, but I've been arguing with anyone who'll listen for a while now that we need to pick the best player for the role, not who we think is generally the best and then shoehorn them in. Especially on the wing. Good wingers have pretty specialised skills for scoring tries on their preferred wing. We're just hurting ourselves by not picking players who can do that.

If I had to pick the backline, it'd probably look something like:

    1. Teddy
    2. Mansour
    3. Aitken
    4. Tommy Turbo
    5. Addo-Carr
    6. Green/Maloney
    7. Cleary/Maloney

I expect the backline to be something more like:

    1. Teddy
    2. Tommy Turbo
    3. Dugan
    4. Hayne
    5. Fergo
    6. Moylan
    7. Maloney

Do you all trade during the round rather than before it? I have done it the last couple of weeks with a trade up my sleeve mid round. Has made a big difference for me with flexibility.

I tested reversing a trade where neither player had played and was surprised it wouldnt allow me, even though it was possible without any impact on the starters or interchange bench.

I need to make 1 trade early before the Roosters game, (getting the shits with Friends unknown minutes now), but will retain a trade waiting on confirmation of Cotric going to fullback or not this week. Could go huge vs Eels at fullback.
