Captain choices will be interesting this week.

    Smith V Tigers
    Ponga V Raiders

Teddy v Tigers didn't really work out for those that captained him, but id have to say Ponga is mighty tempting.

I've gone SST to Herman and Katoa to isaako.

Reason for Isaako is he is currently cheaper than kennar and thompson but i reckon they will get to about the same price within a week or so of one another.
Exact trades I'm looking at too.

    My backline

    Mitchell Kennar
    Turbo Isaako Ponga(traded in)

No WFB/CTR cover from 14-21. Should I prioritise Thompson this week and get Doeuihi next week? or just pray theres no injuries?

With these three especially, they are all either in a new team or playing a new role, or both.

Sure Whitehead has played a bit of lock before, but not alot. He also shifted positions with Crokers HIA and Tapines injury.

Lodge, first game of NRL in three years, intense media pressure in the week, and still only 22 year old.

Arrow - new team, new role. Raiders dominated the first 25 mins, and then the game flipped. He'll improve.

Completely agree. Lodge scored 30 and Arrow scored 33, both around 5 above their prices and Whitehead 49 (around ~8 above his average) in a game where he covered for both 2rf and CTR. Ludicris to trade any of these guys out.
I'm seeing a lot of posts that remind me of what I'd do 3-4 years ago, I'm thinking this may be due to a swelling of new posters as it's the start of a new season?

Yes and no mate, some of the new posters are Veteran players.

This season is different to others as well; more basement priced players are going to make a shit tonne of cash over the coming weeks than prior seasons. With 4 less positions for cash cows this year strategies may differ to previous seasons.

There is no way I would trade these guys out either at this stage but I had some luck with my starting squad.

Sure thing, Kikau has $$$ to be made. I'm willing to trade a mid range to get him in, because he will make more. Katoa needs to go, I need a back up back and if I don't grab a Thompson/Isaako this week, they won't be worth it.

    Cook
    AFB Lodge
    JTurbo Harris Merrin
    Croft Carty
    Mitchell Hiku
    GI Pong Dufty

    Whitehead Arrow RFM Griffen
    Nicholls Croker Mckendry Katoa

    $23k ITB

I'm thinking ditching a mid range cashy (Lodge, Arrow, Whitehead) to make money. Looking at it, I'm thinking down grading Whitehead could be worth it, considering I have 3 potential second row keepers anyway.

Why would you trade Whitehead out?  He was super impressive on the weekend.  Why did you even start with him?

Or you just leave it on Smith every week for guaranteed good scores. Ponga could easily pull a Tedesco score from last week because wing/fullbacks are unpredictable at times.

Honestly I am not even considering anyone else for captain besides Smith until I see a dip in form/minutes (unlikely)

I'm starting to think it's best to trade Nicholls to Kikau and leave SST and Lichaa another week. Don't see Nicholls making a ton of coin from the bench.

I am considering Nicholls and Katoa > Doueihi and Thompson and then SST > Murray next week since both of their BE's are pretty similar.

    Probably re-assuring for TPJ owners.

You would think that with Thaiday retiring this year that the Broncos would give TPJ more minutes as the year goes on to replace Thaiday next year?.

In my draft I have offered McInnes for Tedesco. I have cook in back up, should I go through if accepted?

He did play a tightfit Storm side that like to wrestle and slow down the play the ball. Will be a good indicator this weekend if he can run around the tired forwards of JWH, SST, Liu.

Anyone keen on Fusitua. He's on the right edge playing outside SJ & Harris plus he's dpp. He scored a couple of tries at the weekend & always knows how to find the line.

Well if this comes to fruition that would be great but sticky being sticky he will probably play him 20 minutes to be a cock.
A lot of commentators on the weekend said Wighton should play centre and Cotric should play fullback(who played FB all juniors)
