Didn't say that.  I said he had prepared that line earlier as he knew he would get an interview.  Most people if they had a shit game would have saved it for next time they were interviewed AFTER they actually showed they had said speed.
Hes shown plenty of times that he has speed. She was literally asking him who was faster - being a first grade footy player - he is a pretty confident guy, and cracked a joke that someone prob has said to him ages ago or he has said joking around before.

Its more likely that he didnt realise he was going to get interviewed and blurted out something dumb, rather than having it prepared.

The first time I saw it I thought "he's been waiting to say that".  Just how I saw it.

The phone thing - the problem with it is he could be on the phone to the TAB, on his phone to his friend telling them to unload on what ever, on the phone to his mum etc etc etc. They should be checking his phone. It looks unprofessional and is potentially illegal.

The NRL needs a blanket rule where players arent allowed on their phones what so ever untill well after the games.

Given it was Parramatta at Pirtek, fair chance he was texting some of his "third party" sponsors to bring down some food and beers from their free corporate boxes.

RISING Manly star Liam Knight has been stood down by the club after he was arrested for speeding and registering a high-range breath test analysis.

Knight was charged with high-range PCA and exceeding the speed limit by nearly double in Forestville at 1.15am on Wednesday.

The forward was stopped by highway police when he was seen driving at a high speed near the Roseville Bridge.

“About 1.15am, police from the Northern Beaches Highway Patrol observed a red Mazda station wagon driving at high speed. Police will allege the car was travelling at 137km/h in a 70km/h zone and stopped it near the Roseville Bridge”, police said in a statement.

“The driver, a 21-year-old man holding a provisional P2 driver’s licence, was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result. The man was arrested and taken to Frenchs Forest Police Station, where he returned an alleged positive breath test analysis reading of 0.176.

Manly prop Liam Knight allegedly sprayed Aerogard into his mouth before being arrested for high-range drink driving and speeding in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Knight allegedly returned a 0.176 blood-alcohol reading and was clocked at 137kmh in a 70kmh zone.

Police will allege they saw the 21-year-old P-plater spraying the insect repellent into his mouth in an attmept to mask the smell of alcohol on his breath.
