    http://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/2015/10/19/panthers_parts_ways_.html

Bit rough in my opinion. Takes the club to the prelim final last year and then sees his team decimated by injury this year with some insane statistic (can't remember off the top of my head) in regards to minutes of his first choice spine players playing together.

He has a pretty solid lot of young players coming through with a pretty good forward pack and one of the best young players in the game in Matt Moylan as well as arguably the biggest player transfer for the year with Merrin set to join on next year (toss up between him and Foran). Would've thought they would at least give him another year to see if he was up for it.

That's so rough! They must be kidding themselves. When the Panthers were full strength they were a really really strong side. Should have at least given him the start of next year!

    What a terrible decision!!

    Cleary to Warriors i reckon.

The article i read praised Griffen for getting the Bronocs set up for this year but really they should be hammering him for under achieving with the roster he had.

Seems rough. Wonder if his son picking the Australian U18's ahead of the Holden Cup prelim final for the Panthers was somehow related to his dismissal.

Really hope he does come back. Would be great, new roster, new coach. Keep the robsons and ashyfords in reserve grade

    I wouldn't mind seeing that.

I think Mansour would be a beast if he got an extended (Injury Free) run at FB.

What a terrible decision, he's one of the best coaches going around. What happened to the 5 year plan?

As much as I hate Gus and think Ivan is a decent coach, I don't mind his reasoning to be honest.

For better or for worse, the NRL is an ultra competitive sport these days and as we have seen with the Broncos this season, a change in coach/culture may just be that last 1% that takes you from 7th or 8th to a GF.

I also really like what Griffin did at the Broncos and think he could certainly replicate that at the Panthers. Not to mention he probably has a few lessons learnt from the experience also.

but has Clearly actually coached badly to warrant cutting him loose on the basis of results/culture??? He was brought in with a 5 year plan which stemmed a lot from bringing in juniors and young players with the rest experienced players who wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. He has built one of the more well rounded squads despite not having a legitimate superstar and has unearthed one of the best young players in the game. Took them to a prelim final when no body rated them, and despite one of the worst injury records to key players they still actually looked decent and played well for the most part this year.

Agree Beast.  Potter copped it bad enough (with the injuries) and the Tigers had done nothing for him results wise, let alone a prelim final last year.

Speaking of Tigers - are they stupid not to sign him? Young players to build a core around...

Idiots not to sign him but I think he's already signed sealed and delivered to the warriors.

Instead of is my thought. I hope I'm wrong as I'd love to have him.
