Tigers statement
Wests Tigers would like to clarify media reports this afternoon around the contract status of Mitchell Moses.
Due to the current uncertainty surrounding the salary cap for 2018 and beyond the Club has decided to prioritise the re-signings of Captain Aaron Woods and James Tedesco.
As a result the current contract offer that was with Moses’ management was taken off the table by Wests Tigers.
After being made aware of this decision Moses’ management requested an immediate release from the remainder of Moses’ current contract; this request was denied by Wests Tigers.
This decision was purely made due to the current uncertainty surrounding the salary cap, with the Club not willing to put itself in a risky position for 2018 and beyond.
The Club informed Moses’ management that it would be willing to revisit negotiations once the 2018 salary cap figure was confirmed.
They should have just done what Penrith have done and spent based on the cap they'd like to have. And then tell the NRL to go fuck themselves if they try and lower the cap after they have already signed everybody.

I would never have pictured Moses and Norman as a halves pairing. Not sure why, just doesn't seem like a good match.

Didn't Hoffman move to the Eels to play FB? Unlucky bugger is now destined to play the rest of his career on the wing by the looks of it (where he belongs IMO).
I recall he kicked up a stink at the Broncos when he got shifted to the wing yet he scored something like 13-14 tries outside Reedy. From memory they built quite a decent combo on that edge.

I think it's good for the Tigers to break up brooks and Moses but I would have thought they'd keep Moses first maybe pair him up with Townsend or Whiddop

More likely that the 'salary cap uncertainty' is just an attempt at some PR spin to appease their ever suffering fans....a piss-poor attempt I might add.
Honestly, the place just appears to be in utter disarray and the possibility of them becoming the (Far) West Tigers e.g. West Australia must be firming by the day.

Jason Taylor interview on Fox last night. I'm not a JT fan by any means but he did him self no halm during the interview and can hold his head up high after that.

As for the "Big 4", he basically indicated that these pretenders should stop stuffing around and sign with the club who have been so loyal and patient with them since they started at the Wests Tigers. It is worth a read and a watch.
The Big 4 holding out on their contract sound as if their performances have been affected by the indecision, particularly Brooks and Moses, commonly known "Broses". I will now refer to them as "The 2 Little Pricks".
And as a thought, I would swap Moses immediately for Brown, bring him home.

One week its like its brooks, the next its like its moses.
Putting the weight on brooks now will either benefit him big time or he will crumble.
Its so important for players to have defined roles IMO, not sharing them week in week out.
If the tigers had any balls they would have told these "big 4 (LOL)" to fuck off, given them a date to re-sign by and let them walk if they hadnt signed. Fuck being held hostage by a manager/few players who arent even really that good (besides tedesco). What a cancer to have.

Great win Tigers, congratulations. I did note that Kev Naiqama can count better from his left. Ivan could could see this too and swapped sides in his first game as coach.
Maybe Kevvy can only count from his left so when he was on the right hand side instead of marking the 2nd player from the edge he was counting from the other side of the field and running out of fingers, getting confused and hence bad defensive reads. I think Ivan has worked this out too.

Woods and Moses are replaceable. We probably won't replace them properly. But in theory there are quality replacements available.

Moses has already been handed 1 contract based on potential which hasnt eventuated and now he wants another one? Fuck him. He cant say on one hand that he wants a new contract and to play at a club that will be in the semis and on the other hand be the reason his club hasnt played semis. If he's leaving for another club, stick him in reserves and stop developing him immediately. Start developing a 5/8th whose not a spoilt brat - play Littlejohn & Woods in the halves and tell Mitch if he's any good he should be able to drag Tigers off the bottom of the NSWCup ladder.
