Greg Bird not to be sighting in NRL or origin for the next five years.
Now we just need to get rid of Gallen and Fifita.

Game will be a lot better once those three are gone and forgotten.

Fifita is rumoured to be looking elsewhere in terms of codes because he is unhappy with how the NRL are treating him, and worried about his contract.

    Top move by the Titans.

Bird was still playing decent footy but he was on the decline and takes up too much cap space.

Yeah we would have paid massive overs just to have a name.

I'm spewing we missed out of Browne and Moa though, could have been two hard nosed forwards that we could have used.

Gallen has retired from rep footy and I can see us not picking Fifita next year with the emergence of Jtrbo, Merrin hitting top form, Carty and co.
I like fifita as a player, hes great and a genuine match winner. But fuck me dead, stop doing stupid shit mate.

Browne was the one I wanted. I have no idea why he would sign with Penrith - they are stacked with good props. He will ride the pine for sure and will be lucky to get a consistent spot on the bench.
He would have walked into the Newie starting side and been the best prop, easily.
Jeremy Latimore is a guy I wouldnt mind at newie too

I'm wrong at least as often as I'm right, but I don't think you're missing out by not having Moa. IMO he slowed down a lot this season and I think when that starts with old props it goes downhill fast. I know the Roosters were impacted a lot with Pearce out for much of the season, but this year, particularly when JWH was out and the Roosters were crying out for someone to step up and take responsibility, Moa virtually disappeared and left it up to Napa.

He could surely play a role as a 30 minute bench prop in the NRL in my opinion, but I don't know if that's the sort of guys Newy needs to recruit (given that Newy probably have to pay a premium to get anyone at the moment). You really want 2 good starting props and 2 servicable props for the bench and depth. I reckon you have a starter in Daniel Safiti (he's a good one), so I'd be looking at a good starting prop. You're right with respect to Browne. With what Newy have, Browne and Safiti as starting props would have been the least of your problems.

I agree with you dippy, thats why I wanted Vaughn or Browne. A prop in his mid-late 20s who is not going to cost a fortune but is still a quality player.

Vaughn would have been good, I think we need to look at some English front rowers and see what they can do. Just hope we get someone that is no nonsense and hard hitting.

If we can fix our attitude in defense we'll go along way to winning more than one game next year.

Whoa! Settle down with the wild aspirations there champ.
Maybe aim to get your first one chalked up and then you can start making these sort of outlandish calls....

Anyways.....I believe the biggest problem with all the fantasy sports games there are about now, is that people tend to over-estimate the value of recruitment and of individual players.

To me a club like Newie, shouldn't be starting by looking at where they are lacking players (which is an issue, I'm not suggesting it isn't).

First and foremost they should be sorting out their club culture (which is why Bennett left in the first place).
This is what teams like Canberra and Penrith have done exceptionally well this year.

Then you'll find that all of a sudden the place is positive and these blokes previously classified as 'up and comers' or 'plodders' start looking like astute purchases.
