For NSW or when origin players are missing? In fairness, he'd probably make a better fist of it than some of the guys that have been picked in the halves for NSW in the last decade.

He's much maligned but if you can see past that, I would actually prefer the opposite.

Latimore is ok but at best he's a bench player in a team already full of some pretty good forwards.

Williams at his best could potentially be a starting gun in any team and I would back my club and coach (particularly when the lazy bastard is only on a 1 year deal) to get the best out of the big unit.

Maybe they signed him so Gal has someone to box at training to prepare for his upcoming fights.

Williams has been fucking trash for about 4 years now.

Yeah thats the thought in the back of the mind, but it gets further away each year he does nothing i was thinking the same, the possibility that whatever mojo the sharkies have at the moment could turn him around, slight chance. 1 year deal the best part - yes.

So Barba is gone from the sharks, that means holmes is the fullback with beale on the wing? or someone else.

Not that much off a loss, Holmes is a gun.

I was wondering where they were getting all their cash from to re-sign all those blokes and sign new blokes - after all the talk of lewis/heighington etc etc being pushed out due to the cap.

There is a fair chunk of cash free'd up!

Knights could do well to sign Barba on the cheap. One of the Knights greatest ever players was a constant drug user during his playing career.

Lots of players have been consistent drug users throughout their careers, not many admit to it though.

But yeah, I duno. I would happily take him obviously but barba is the kind of player that only operates well behind a gun forward pack, which we do not have.

He is easily the best fullback on the market now though and would come cheap considering he misses half a season and is just a ticking time bomb.

Danny Wicks has retired, not long after signing a 2 year extension with the Eels. Frank Pritchard has signed a one year deal with the Eels apparently.

I like Frank the Tank. He'd be getting old but I'm still glad to see him back in the NRL. If Parra can get big minutes out of Mau and Moeroa in the back row I'm sure he'll still have something to offer in 40 odd minutes off the bench.

Hopefully beale goes elsewhere, rumoured to atleast. Plenty of options at wing elsewhere.
Thats the laughable part, how guy's get sacked and go straight to another club after suspension ends. It literally is hilarious. Whats the point of clubs being obligated to sack them.

Yeah I agree Rev, its disgusting how a bloke can just get sacked and then picked up somewhere else.

In this particular case though, didnt he ask for the release?

His dealer was quoted as saying "a fair bit mate, but he never asked for tick".

$650K they have offered him $300K to come back after 12 weeks + a bye and a game that has no bearing due to origin.

Wait, what, the Sharks sacked him but have offered him a new contract after his suspension? That'll do me. Fucks sake.

He asked for the release, wasn't sacked. Dude is against the wall and loves his kids. He'd play park footy if it put food on the table and it was as easy as that

So leave him to play park footy then, so as not to give him yet another opportunity to tarnish our great game as someone in the spotlight.

We all love our kids mate. That is why the majority of us, you included going by how admirably proud you are of your son, choose to act in a way that means we don't jeapordise our employment. We all work hard and put up with bullshit that we shouldn't have to in some degree or another to ensure we can continue to provide for ourselves and our families.

He has put himself against the wall...on multiple occasions.
