My advice to them on AFL was to use the generic Dream Team scoring (also used by AFL Fantasy), which they followed thankfully, none of this exotic stat rubbish.

As to what that would mean for NRL, whether they would use NRL DT or NRL Fantasy or devise their own, I am not sure. I just tweeted Matt again, will report back.

Taking a while to get going on the NRL but they are offering 50k garunteed in one afl tournie this week. I'm having my first crack at afl fantasy with not much idea about the players lol

    Got an answer:

    Matt ‏@mattpsanders
We have developed our own NRL scoring system @m0nty, as we didn't feel there was an existing scoring system that was optimised for DFS.

    Paul Montgomery ‏@m0nty
@mattpsanders using basic stats, I hope, none of this exotic stuff?

    Matt ‏@mattpsanders
@m0nty we try and steer clear of anything subjective - we aren't introducing any new (exotic) stats - I think you'll like it.

Jonathon Griffin (like his value to upside and home form)
Darcy Byrne-Jones (like his value to upside at home and opp away form)

are the only 2 ive got set so far, will find a few more boom/bust cheap guys and then fill with high end guys like Riewoldt i think

Griffin looks a bit expensive, he'd have to jag 100+ to justify it. His one 100+ game for the season came when there was 100 total hit outs in the GWS game and he got 41 of them. Forecast for Subi is blowing a gale and raining sheets, so you might be right there, but he's going to get very few possessions so he'd have to rack up a massive amount of tackles, which he may do. Not a bad option.

DBJ solid too at that price. I'd also look at Collins, he's got big wraps on him and could score like Adams from earlier in the season in much the same role.

Loading up on Saints is probably the right move, plenty will follow you this week especially with the normally reliable Dogs on the road.

Thanks for the Collins tip. I dont know any players so finding a $5k starter really helps the avg spend.

The ruck selection is interesting, you need 1 but there is limited selection with cheapest at 8.5K and most expensive at $16k so i just basically went as cheap as i could with 100 point potential. You need volatile players to win GPPs just got to get them on the upswing Smile

Have you got any data on the amount of points total needed to win DS tournies? I know in MB NRL youll need at least 350 most tournies and close to 400 in the larger slate (3+). Id be guessing 700+ to cash, 800 for the win?

To get in the top 10 in a big DS comp on a good week you need 900+, if it's a poor week 800 would do it. Basically you need 120-130s from your premiums, 70-80s from your rookies and 100s from your mid-rangers to average 100 or thereabouts from your nine players.

Rookie recommendations: Mathieson (averaged 95 in juniors), Ray (at $6k he's a mature player at rookie steal price), Robertson (lots of midfield time due to injuries).

Ive gone Newton, Ray and Collins as my cheap guys.

Will prob add a second team considering there is just over 1000 teams so far but they pay to 450th. The overlay is huge right now.

Newton is an emergency, he's not playing at this stage. Careful with those coloured dots, they are misleading.

Well, Byrne-Jones picked up a knock to his ankle which probably shaved 20 points off his score. Unlucky. That's DFS.

How early or late in the game did Gaff get injured? I was looking really good in a turbo till i copped that score.

Byrne-Jones in 2 of my 3 teams hopefully they can still cash, 1500 players and top 450 make money. I got $50 bonus when i signed up so used that for these entries Smile

I see we can now select NRL in the lobby so tournies might be on next week.

Decided to chuck $10 in the $2k Super Sat special, haven't played since last year. Looking good for the win, currently on top with Barba, Fifita and Parcell in play. Most of the others have Gallen and Lewis so hopefully they don't catch up.

    Halfway through the third quarter.

Griffin looking okay not great. Has dropped three or four marks he would have gobbled if not for the rainy conditions.

Good job Roger. ive had a good weekend in the 3 man winner takes all but havent liked any tournies to much so only entered 1 team where i normally enter multiples. I am 6th in the Sharks v Manly one hoping i can gain 0.9 points and get to 5th (double the prize money)
