Many of you may have already heard of NRL CEO.

Its a different type of draft game with a unique scoring system where forwards can score trys by combining 40 involvements a match and players can earn meter eaters when making 150m a match etc.

    The scoring system is below.

    NRL
    NRLCEO Classic Draft League Template
    Scoring:
    Forwards score: Tries (4) + Workhorse (4) + Try Assists (2) + Line Breaks (1) + Line Break Assists (1) – Sin Bins (-2) – Send Offs (-4) + Field Goals (1) + 40/20’s (1)
    Backs score: Tries (4) + Try Assists (2) + Line Breaks (1) + Line Break Assists (1) – Sin Bins (-2) – Send Offs (-4) + Field Goals (1) + 40/20’s (1)
    Positions:
    1 x Fullback
    2 x Wingers
    2 x Centres
    1 x Five Eighth
    1 x Half Back
    2 x Front Rowers
    1 x Hooker
    3 x Back Rowers
4 x Bench (by default bench players score half points)
What is a workhorse? A workhorse constitutes of 40 or more tackles and runs combined for each player. A double workhorse (worth double points) has different requirements for different forward positions:
Back Row and Front Row: 60 or more tackles and runs combined AND more than 120 metres
Hooker: 50 or more tackles and runs combined AND more than 75 metres

Overally its a very fun draft game and I would like to get a league going on here and hopefully grow it to a promotion and relegation type mode similar to what we have in ultimate footy currently.

I'm looking for 8-10 managers from here who would be keen to give it a go.

Ask more questions below if you like however the link for the site is.

    www.nrlceo.com

Register your interest and hopefully we get enough to get a league going.

So a backrower might make 50 tackles + have 10 runs for 100m and get just 4 points for the week? What a shit game.

Thanks for your support of the game B/L. Just for reference our blogs are at www.nrlceo.com but the game is played on www.thebench.com.au

Ryno, the scoring isn't for everyone I understand. In that instance you mentioned you might think that someone is hard done by for only scoring four points but when the games come down to the wire, often that four point can get you the win. It's the closeness of the game that people love and when it comes down to the last game of the round and you are counting your player up to 40 tackles from 35 in the last five minutes its edge of your seat stuff.

It's so much better for H2H competition.

If a star forward is a late withdrawal or gets injured early in Fantasy/Supercoach then you can be stuffed as its hard to make up that 60 points.

If players generally only contribute single figure scores then no single player is crucial to success.

Giving someone a point just for falling on a tackled player is a bit excessive.

Also, by dissing this scoring system you are dissing VNRL, the first popular fantasy rugby league game

Ryno is a well known grump though and any thought of something different probably scares him Razz

Doesnt look like we have enough interest to get a league going which is disappointing.

I have still 2 leagues to worry about so all good.

But it is certainly a great h2h comp and brings about plenty of banter.

Is 10 times better then a fantasy draft league.

If you're happy to play a game that rewards a winger catching the ball and falling over the line once in a game the same as a backrower making 50 tackles, power to you. Nothing "grumpy" about it.

Im bang up for new and different fantasy games - was in the first Sportal Ultimate League season, as I'm sure you remember. Fantasy that basically places a 4 point ceiling on half the player pool and doesnt excite me in the slightest.

All good Ryno. As I said, each to their own. It's not for everyone. Just to let you know though there is no ceiling on those players.

If a front rower of back rower gets 60+ tackles and runs combined and runs for more than 120m they get eight points (called a Double Workhorse). If they run for more than 150m they get 10 points (a Double Workhorse + Metre Eater).

If a hooker gets 50+ tackles and runs combined and runs more than 75m they get eight points (called a Double Workhorse). If they run more than 100m they get 10 points (a Double Workhorse + Metre Eater).

As you can see from this blog, 16 out of the top 25 scorers over the whole season last year were actually forwards including the top three.

    http://www.nrlceo.com/top-25-players-of-2016/

I don't expect that to change your mind at all but just thought I'd let you know a few of the points on offer and at least others that might be interested can understand how it works.

Not going to weigh in but personally for me it is too much to wrap my head around in terms of how the scoring works and who is great and not great options. Would love to see a league set up from here though if you guys get enough interest.

That all depends on how involved you want to get. You only need to trade with others if you want to and you get an email if others offer you a trade. You can choose whether or not to setup a waiver wire where the bottom ranked team gets first pick. Then you just need to keep an eye on your team during the bye weeks to make sure you name as many as possible.

Everything is customisable from how many players you select each week, to squad size, to termination count, to individual scoring for individual positions. It's up to your competition admin.
