Got to stick by your team in tough times though, no point supporting a team if you jump on and off the bandwagon.

Haha it's hard to argue against facts without coming across like a biased twat. Plus to be perfectly honest, there's a lot to like about what Newcastle have going on for the future. As long as they think about it correctly.

    Knights to move to QLD?

Absolute gutter journo talk. Can you believe someone actually gets paid to dribble this type of shit?

"The NRL needs to wake up and start looking after their fans" from the mayor of ipswich.

What a fucking dumb cunt. How is ripping out a team from one of the heartlands of league in NSW, with one of the most passionate supporter bases in the comp - looking after fans.

Wont happen and is just utter rubbish.

Can you imagine a passionate NSW supporter such as yourself supporting a team based in QLD? I just don't see it.

If they moved the knights, which they wont, but just say they did - I would 100% stop following them. I support the NEWCASTLE knights not the Ipswich or SEQ Knights or what ever.

I would prob be similar to the blokes who use to support the bears/maggies etc - still enjoy league enough to watch it, and follow players but not really have a side.

@Honeysett would stick with them. He'd be majorly conflicted but hes not he type to dump his team.

Clearly some off season journalism here and if anything the NRL would just kill off Newcastle and start fresh in Ipswich.

Having said all of that, Ipswich is a deadset shithole of the highest order and thus it's obvious why the journo has joined the dots here.....match made in heaven really.

    haha
ozzy maaaate, as soon as you get about 5k out of brisbane city - it is hell on earth. The amount of toothless crack heads I have seen on the trains and busses around brissy is fucking scary.

Not to mention innocent bus drivers getting petrol poured on them and it on fire.

    Great city!

    1 Dylan Phythian
    2 Ken Sio
    3 Dane Gagai
    4 Peter Mata’utia
    5 Nathan Ross
    6 Brock Lamb
    7 Trent Hodkinson
    8 Daniel Saifiti
    9 Danny Levi
    10 Josh Starling
    11 Sione Mata’utia
    12 Jamie Buhrer
    13 Mitch Barnett

Starting side for the last trial.
Fullback is obviously the glaring point, why not just play kenny sio there until ponga gets there next year? We should have picked up david mead IMO, would have been a good stop gap fullback.

Hooker, 6, front row and fullback are the glaring weaknesses.

The Pythons pretty decent. Long term Ponga is a half, its whether Newcastle will start him at fullback and bring him along slowly

I disagree, I think Ponga is the fullback for at least the next 5-8 years, then at the back end of his career he moves to the halves.
Or it just depends on the cattle really.

I didnt know that bloke even played fullback I thought he was a hooker

We played him at hooker just to get some game time going - he's a fullback and half.

To be fair, with the experience some of those young blokes got the last couple of seasons, together with their recruits, that's probably easily the best side you've had for a couple of years. After the first month of 2015, you had no idea where their next win was going to come from, but with that side, if they keep together I wouldn't be surprised if they won 7-8 games this year, which would be a massive improvement.

yeah the worst thing will be though, when the roosters and co come through and poach the experienced young blokes after the end of next season, when they are still 22 but have played 75 first grade games
