Australia Vs India ODI series Empty Australia Vs India ODI series

Post by No Worries Wed Jan 13, 2016 7:49 am

So the WACA again has shown it's a run fest this season providing nothing for the bowlers. But more importantly we have the ridiculous situation back where we don't use technology because India don't like it. It's not a perfect system, but I always smile when it bites them in the arse. For those who didn't see the game Aussies were 2 down early and first ball George Bailey gets one that flicks the gloves and goes through to the keeper and he is given not out. Bailey goes on to partner with Smith to put the Aussies in place to overhaul the 310 target and win the game.

Best moment: George Bailey being interviewed by Mark Taylor after he is dismissed and is leaving the ground.

Mark Taylor: Take us through that first ball.
George Bailey: It would have been an interesting one for DRS, but we aren't the team who doesn't want it

I particularly liked the tongue in cheek "yeah of course it flicked the hip guard....." comment just before that.

Was a great day of cricket to be there live. 600+ runs, can't complain with that. Got the slow clap going for Steve Smith, feel I may have jinxed him

Warner out, Khawaja in. Finch might be feeling the heat if Ussie gets a big score today.

How good is Chris Lynn going? Get that man in for games 4 and 5

I think this puts things in perspective.

Game 1 - Commentators banged on about India should have gone harder earlier
Dhoni rebuts with yeah but you could lose wickets and not get 300
Game 2 India go a little harder earlier lose 1-2 wickets more exposing the tail and they crumble in the last 10 overs getting almost the exact same score.
Both times Australia (not without hiccups) reel in the total without any real fanfare.

Regardless of ICC rankings, Australia are that far out in front in 1 day cricket it reminds me of the 3 peat 1 day world cup where the goal was not to go undefeated because they did that last time and it was a given, it was to win every game convincingly.

Turning out to be an interesting game this one. If India get a few more wickets Aussies are in trouble

At the expense of who though? Take out Marsh you lose a bowler. Bailey? Just scored a hundred. Maxwell? Again lose a bowler. Lynn is the best T20 batsmen in the country at the moment but not yet for the Australian ODI team

For you aussie's interested, Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson just chased down Pakistan's 168 themselves to set a new international T20 opening partnership record
